With 16 sq. ft. of drying space and a 99- hour adjustable timer that shuts off automatically when the set time is complete, you can create your most popular snacks in high quantities with minimal effort. The unit's convenient two-time two-temp feature allows you to set two different temperatures for one dehydrating process with the easy-to-use adjustable digital display thermostat (95 - 165 degrees Fahrenheit). For example, you could have it set to 165 degrees for an hour, and then have it automatically reduce the temperature to 145 degrees for the remainder of the process. You can just set it and forget it! This 600 watt unit utilizes horizontal air flow drying technology with a 6 1/2'' fan, making it one of the most efficient dryers on the market.
The EXC10EL has an attractive, durable stainless steel cabin-not usually found in medium sized machines like this-with (10) 15'' x 15'' stainless steel removable trays. I've owned the dehydrator for about 14 days and it's been in use for 10 of those days. Positives: 1. You don't need to rotate the trays ever. All 10 trays dehydrate at even rates. 2. The temperature is very accurate. I set it at 110 F and measured for 1 hour. It stayed at 110 F most of the time. It spent 10% of the time fluctuating between 108 F and 113 F. 3. The 15 x 15 trays are fully stainless steel and can be used end to end. All space can be used. 4. The interior is stainless. The build is sold and the dehydrator seems like it will last years. 5. It's easy to use. You can set 2 timers for up to 99 hours. I often set one for 140 F for 2 hours, then 110 F for 6 hours. Negatives: 1. The doors really aren't that great.
