Featuring a natural beechwood handle, this Dexter-Russell 16221 Traditional 6" x 3" high-carbon steel solid square edge turner is perfect for the traditional chefs who prefer the warmth and feel of a wooden handle. This beautiful handle is secured to the blade with 3 durable brass compression rivets for ultimate sturdiness. From there, the high-quality, high-carbon steel blade offers the right amount of flexibility for easy handing of food. This precision-ground blade is exceptional at holding an edge and features a unique edge geometry, exclusive to the Traditional line of turners and cutlery. For safety and sanitation, this blade is secured to the handle with an impervious blade-to-handle seal.
This high-carbon steel turner ensures high-quality performance. However, if not taken care of properly, this turner's long-term functionality may diminish. Your turner should be hand washed only in mild-to-medium strength detergent, and towel dried afterward, since high heat and chemicals from the dishwasher can wear down your product over time. The wooden handle will eventually fade and split if put in the dishwasher. You should not soak your product for long periods of time or allow it to remain submerged for cleaning. Do not use any chlorine or bleach products, as well. Finally, coat the blade with mineral oil and store in a dry place to keep it from rusting/ staining. Fine steel wool can also be used when needed.
