Details

This Chef Pierre 9" lard shortening deep dish unbaked pie shell provides you with a premium pie crust that is sure to make your dessert stand out. Thick and sturdy, this deep dish pie shell has tall, nicely crimped edges that bakes to a visually appealing golden brown color with a buttery, flaky crust. Fill this pie shell with your signature pumpkin pies, savory broccoli, mushroom, and gouda quiches, or classic, tart lemon meringue pie! No matter what you choose to make, the crust is sure to hold up to your cream, meringue, fruit, or quiche fillings after baking.

This pie shell is made with lard shortening and hydrogenated lard to produce a flakier pie shell when compared to pie shells made with vegetable shortening. Full of flavor with 0 grams of trans fat, this pie shell is a great way to reduce prep time in your kitchen without compromising the reputation of your famous recipes. To prepare, keep frozen until ready to bake and place on a flat baking sheet and prick the sides and bottom with a fork. For conventional ovens, preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the crust is a light, golden brown. For convection ovens, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 8-10 minutes, until the crust is a light, golden brown. Cool at room temperature prior to filling.

Starting in 1922 in Traverse City, Michigan, Chef Pierre began with honest people who took pride in baking pies. They focused on using fresh fruit, real dairy, and eggs among their ingredients, and refined recipes to create unforgettable pies people loved. Today, the Chef Pierre brand is a well-recognized, leading foodservice provider of restaurant-quality pies and other baked good solutions that reduce your prep time while offering a premium quality taste.
