What makes the polypropylene plastic material unique?
Polypropylene has a translucent color with some visibility and has average stain resistance and durability/rigidity. It has a temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees and is not recommended for use in the freezer or microwave for long periods of time. However, it is safe for cleaning in the dishwasher. Additionally, it is BPA-free and meets NSF standards. Polypropylene ranks at a mid-level price point. These specifications are based on standard use of products, extreme conditions could alter product quality over time. Though temperature range is representative of microwave and freezer use, it is not recommended for certain materials and may cause products to deform or break.
Will compatible lids and food storage containers create an air tight seal when used together?
The lids best serve as a cover for your food containers. Although they are not meant to seal tightly, they do an excellent job of keeping contaminants out of the container's contents. The lids do not snap or lock into place and will come off if knocked over or turned upside down.
The container is perfect, and has been on back order for a month. Finally received the containers and the matching lids which previously were received do not fit the container. When you put the lid on, it pops off. New lids are being shipped, but it also maybe this lot of containers are defective. Customer service was very supportive, but did not show any other issues reported as of yet. If the replacement lids fit, it will totally satisfy our needs. Stay tuned.
