Consciously-sourced with a premium, fresh-brewed taste, this Caribou Coffee Obsidian Blend whole bean coffee is perfect for expanding your specialty coffee offerings to ensure there is the perfect cup of coffee waiting for every patron! Made with 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified arabica beans, this bold, smooth dark roast blend has a deeply rich, full-bodied taste that is sure to please your coffee connoisseurs. It features hints of juicy berries that finishes with velvety notes of bittersweet chocolate. Its rich taste can be served plain, poured over ice, or customized with a splash of flavoring syrup and creamer to create signature specialty beverages!
Ideal for restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, this coffee is packaged as unground, whole beans, which allows each and every batch to be individually ground immediately prior to brewing for maximum flavor, aroma, and freshness! This also allows you to control the grind level so that you can tailor the coffee to your preferred brewing method, whether it be drip, cold brew, french press, or pour over. The bag features a one-way degassing valve, which allows for carbon dioxide gasses to be released from bag and prevents oxygen from entering the bag, thus reducing oxidation. This helps maintain freshness and lock in the coffee's flavor and aroma to extend its life.
To brew 64 oz. or 1/2 gallon of prepared coffee in a standard filter brewer, weigh out 3.5 oz., or 0.22 lb., of whole beans. Grind the beans into a filter and place the filter of ground coffee into the brew basket. Select the appropriate batch size on your brewer and start the brew cycle. Wait until all of the coffee has dripped from the brew basket before serving. For optimal freshness, this coffee has a maximum 60 minute hold limit. At 60 minutes, or when you run out of coffee, rinse the brew basket and server three times before brewing the next batch.
Caribou Coffee sources the top 1% of coffee beans from around the world to ensure you are getting the freshest, most authentic-tasting coffee. It was the first coffee chain to pledge to source 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee beans, which means that every single bean that goes into making their coffee has been ethically and sustainably sourced with a focus on wildlife conservation and fair treatment for the farmers who grow the beans. The beans are proudly small-batch roasted and hand-packed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Offering espresso as well as regular and decaffeinated coffee in light, medium, and dark roasts, they have now expanded their line to serve innovative, ready-to-drink canned cold brew items. Building on their classic offerings, Caribou successfully delivers a variety of flavor profiles to accommodate a wide range of taste preferences, making it easy to serve high quality, delicious-tasting beverages that are both socially responsible and environmentally sustainable.

I have been around Caribou for a long time! I grew up on this coffee as my parents only drink this brand being that we are from up north. In the South there are over Brick and Mortars, however, around MN to Washington state you only see Caribou. The coffee is fantastic, fresh and fair-trade. I used to purchase through a Caribou distributor at a higher cost, now that Webstaurant carries it and at a lower cost makes all the difference in this world of inflation!

This coffee has a very neutral flavor. It is not overly acidic, but it is also not overly dark and bitter. It has a pleasant flavor that pleases everyone. The coffee goes great with milk. We like to grind it on the finer side and use it to make moka pot coffee.
