Shanks extracts black food color is very runny not a very good food coloring makes frosting greasy and frosting colored more like a gray not black

I was tired of searching and searching for a good price on black food coloring. If I did find a good price it was for a very small amount. Thankfully they came through with this great price for this large amount. It really can’t be beat.

Unfortunately despite good packing the bottle rupture during shipping. But Webstaurant quickly fixed the issue. They have such great customer service! Received other colors in perfect condition so know this doesn't always happen.

I use a lot of food coloring for our various ravioli we make daily, this caramel works perfect for our meat ravioli, we also use to shade a few cakes.

This product is fantastic for added color to foods without adding additional flavors. We make a rice called Congris which is rice mixed with black beans mixed and we like it for it to be dark and the color comes from the beans but with this product you dont have to use as many beans since this will give you that darker color.

I used this black food coloring to make my chocolate ganache a little darker when I am doing my chocolate drip cakes. You would have to add quite a bit to get a full black but it doesn’t seem to alter the taste.

The other reviews are pretty much spot on. This coloring is fine for cake (black velvet, etc) but does not work well with buttercream- you have to add so much extra liquid because this is green-based that it bleeds out. This may work better with a high humidity buttercream recipe, but I haven't tried yet.

I am not happy with this product... I am used to using paste food coloring... and did not realize the difference in using liquid... it does not turn out black at all... not sure if i have a defect product... but this is not good for icing at all...

used this for a few desserts for Halloween. It worked ok in most items but we tried to die salt to rim glasses with. That didn't work out at all.

This did add a nice caramel color all on it's own. in cupcake batter. It did though weaken the flavoring so add more to compensate. It was a deep brown as egg paint.

This food coloring has brown notes to it so it's not like a deep black when you are adding it to frostings or batters or anything like that. It works but it's going to be a lighter black than a deep black.

Purchase this to use in my whipped icing for cakes... Was a very bad idea.. After a bit of it being on cake, the black color started to "sweat" out of the cake in very small droplets.. Have no other use for it so it's been sitting in my shelf.... Just giving it one star because it didn't work for me.

I have had a hard time finding this from my other food venders as they stopped stocking it. i was glad to find it so i could make my pumpernickel bread.

This caramel color is good for pastry and savory applications. It gives a nice brown sheen to my barbeque sauce. It doesn't have any flavor.

I was very happy to find carmel color food coloring. We use a lot of food coloring and this was definitely a great find. I was very happy to find this color especially since I don't have to mix a bunch of colors to get it. It was the perfect tone, just what I was looking for.
