The square table top is 1" thick and has an MDF (medium-density fiberboard) core. MDF core is sturdy, known for maintaining a flat surface, and is largely unaffected by changes in temperature and humidity. Better yet, this table top can be attached to a wide variety of bases allowing you to customize its final appearance. the table top was perfect and just what we needed. Our residents prefer sitting at round tables while dining rather than sitting at a square. We were easily able to convert the table top and secure to the base.
These Relic chestnut rectangular melamine table tops are absolutely gorgeous. You would not even know that they are faux wood tables. These go great with the rustic or industrial type decor.
