I always keep a couple of spare thermostats on hand just in case. These work in both of our units the Advantco CDF10 and the Weston 7400 series. We use our dehydrators almost daily. We average about 3-4 years of use per thermostat before the contacts simply pit so bad that it stops working. I’d guess it takes me 20 minutes to swap out the thermostat. Inspect your new thermostat before you install it! Make sure the contacts open and close as you rotate the knob shaft. (Sometimes these get misaligned during shipping). You can slightly bend the thermal retainer / contact bridges to obtain proper contact opening and closing during knob rotation if you need to.
