Customer questions about this product
- Is this Vacmaster vacuum bag / pouch boilable?
- Yes, Vacmaster bags and pouches can be boiled. All styles will withstand boiling temperatures for up to 20 minutes; for maximum performance, check out their ”Re-Therm” line of bags, which can be boiled for 30 minutes.
- How do I determine if a vacuum machine bag will work on my machine?
If you have a chamber-type machine: Buy a chamber-type bag (mesh-less design). The open end of the vacuum bag must be shorter than the seal bar on your machine, and the bag must also fit inside your machine’s chamber.
If you have an external-type machine: You must buy an external-type, or "out of chamber" bag (mesh design). The open end of the vacuum bag must be shorter than the seal bar on your machine.
All of our vacuum machine bags list how large the open end is, and whether you can use them with external or chamber machines, in the content.
- What foods cannot be vacuum sealed?
- Foods containing anaerobic bacteria cannot be vacuum sealed: mushrooms, garlic and soft cheeses such as Brie, Camembert, Ricotta and other soft and unpasteurized cheeses.

People Talk About:bags zipper butches bag bought defected boxes sealed zippers operations
The zippers don't work on the bags I bought, 2 different sizes, same problem on both Wonder if everyone has the same issues with these? We appreciate your review, Greg! We are sorry these bags are not working properly for you. A Customer Solutions Representative will be contacting you shortly.
Item came in on time with good packaging. Bags are correctly sized(8x12), seems thinner than 3 mil but I do not have a way of accurately measuring it. The major complaint was the quality of the zipper and the way it was attached. I have used 13 bags so far - packing my oatmeal and powdered milk for a backpacking trip and all of them have failed to open the zipper. It separated from where the zipper was sealed to the bag, The reason I ordered this was to close the bag again after pouring in the hot water while waiting for the oats to soak and it failed miserably... I should have just bought the regular bag (w/o zipper) which is also cheaper. We appreciate your review, Arnold! Generally speaking, these are good bags. I've bought thousands of them, and only twice had problems. Main problem is that sometimes whole butches of bags are defected. You seal them, in a few hours they are unsealed. And believe me, it's not about adjusting sealing time. It seems like micro-cracks are presented on those bags. Usually, i have dump defected butch (50 bags) and go to next one, which is fine. Today though, I had a few defected butches in one box which made me a bit frustrated. If you really need these bags for your operations, buy two boxes to insure your operations.
