I usually use these in the fridge, because I think that odors are typically stronger in the fridge, but it works for the freezer too. It works a lot better at absorbing odors than a typical box of baking soda. The mesh material is very strong and won't let any baking soda fall out.

with the name Arm & Hammer you already know its a great product. we use them in the walk-in cooler and in the freezer. they do a great job of absorbing any odor that may build up.
