Prevent dangerous thermal expansion with this Amtrol Extrol EX-3000-100 4.4 gallon in-line hydronic expansion tank kit. This kit includes an EX-30 expansion tank designed for use in closed, non-potable, hydronic heating and chilled water systems. This tank accepts expanded water as the system temperature increases, which activates the diaphragm to keep pressure below the valve setting. The diaphragm is made of heavy-duty butyl/EPDM, and it also helps separate the system water from the tank's air charge. This handy tank saves energy, eliminates potential safety hazards, and reduces system maintenance. It can be used for propylene glycol applications with mixtures up to 50%.

The tank has an outer shell made of durable steel with a urethane topcoat for additional strength. It has a maximum operating temperature of 240 degrees Fahrenheit and a maximum working pressure of 100 PSIG. Plus, it has an ample 4.4 gallon capacity. It comes complete with an In-Sight indicator cap that changes color to alert users that tank service is required.

This kit includes an automatic air vent to eliminate system air and to keep the system running smoothly. It also includes an air purger with a 1" NPTF connection to separate the water and air before it enters the tank. The tank comes pre-charged with a 12 PSIG air charge, and it has a 1/2" NPTM water connection. It uses convenient in-line mounting to save space.
