- Why should I filter my fryer oil?
- Regularly filtering your fryer oil saves money. It extends the life of your fryer oil, which in turn leads to less frequent refills.
This 3M standard range fryer oil test strip kit is a great way to measure the shortening breakdown in your fryer. Delivering accurate FFA concentration ratings from 2 to 7 percent, these test strips help save money by preventing premature dumping of fryer oil. Of course, it's also important not to overuse your fryer oil, as that can result in poor food quality. This kit takes all the guesswork out of deciding when to change your oil so you can get the most out of your supply while maintaining consistent products.
To test your fryer oil, use tongs to hold the test strip by the long white end, and dip the test strip into hot oil so all of the blue bands are submerged. Hold the test strip in the oil for 1-2 seconds, then remove it and wait 15 seconds. Next, hold the strip to the light, compare it to the included evaluation guide, and follow the recommendations.
To ensure proper functionality, these test strips should not be stored in humid conditions or in an area where they may be exposed to water or oil before use.

These test strips have saved us a lot of time and money - we were either paying for more expensive chemical testing to monitor our oil quality, or we were changing our oil too often. The colors are easy to interpret using the included chart. You still need to use good practices like filtration and topping up, but the test strips help eliminate guesswork.

Well it does its job. We use the full miroil system and the strips say our oil is never bad. Which you would think is a good thing. I thank I must have high standards for oil I'm not sure. There are times when I don't think the grease is very good but the strip says it is. This could have something to do with the fact that we only have fryer so all foods are cooked in the same grease instead of just potatoes. That could make a difference.

Fryers should be filtered and cleaned often but tend to be forgotten! This pack of test strips will atleast allow you to control the oil!

with the ever rising cost of fry oil anything you can do to control your oil you have to. this way the line cook doesnt just look at the greese and say ok im changing it, he has a guide to follow:)

This item is a must have in the food/health safety conscious world we live in today. Health conscious folks know the importance of avoiding the dangerous breakdown in fryer oil molecules.
