How to Season Your Pans

Pan seasoning is essential for keeping your pans performing their best in your kitchen. This instructional video will show you the proper steps to seasoning your cooking pans based on their material.

For a carbon steel pan, start by washing, rinsing, and drying the pan. Heat the pan on your range on medium to high heat, then add shortening to the pan. Use a clean dry towel to spread the shortening around the interior of the pan, creating an even coat. Remove the pan from the heat, wipe out the excess shortening and let it cool. You can repeat this process up to 3 more times. For a cast iron skillet, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and set aside. Wash, rinse, and dry your skillet. Place the skillet in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove and coat the entire skillet with shortening, inside and out. Place the skillet in the oven for 45 minutes with the baking pan on a rack below it to catch any mess. You can repeat this process up to three more times.

screens screen Great pizza price Nice ovens size pizza's slices
Perfect pizza screen! I will always recommend to coat them yourself, and this is the one you do that with. Just brush them with som oil, and put them in you oven. Be aware, it can cause some smoke - and might set fire if the temperature is to high!.
Excellent pizza screen. Great quality and price. With proper care these screens for a very long time. Will order several more when I need to
These pizza screens were great when the ovens are hot you don’t want to burn the pieces and that’s where these things come in they do a great job .
Twenty inch economical pizza screen. Great for the low price. Does the same job as the other heavier ones. Be careful not to drop it on it's side as it will become oval and not perfectly round. You can try "pulling it out" with a tight grip of pliers back to original shape.
A very nice screen at a good price. These are roughly half as much as other name brand screens and work every bit as well. make sure to season with some oil and bake in oven before using
I call these the "mountain" size. Nice screens fo the price. No need to buy the metal craft ones when these are cheaper and just as good.
The 20" Aluminum pizza screen is really big and durable. I've noticed a difference in the way our pizza's cook since getting this, definitely a a more even bake. Easy to use and easy to clean, great product.
These screens are nice because they are large. The only downside is they become black pretty quick. But for the price you can't really complain.
Good quality. Use these daily at the restaurant without any issues. But know that I did take one home for use on my days off, and 20 inches is too deep for use in home ovens.
We use this size pizza screen to make slices for our deck oven. It makes a nice size slice (cut into 6 pieces) and the customer seems to think the value matches the cost. The screen is solid construction, so there are no rips or tears in the metal. Well-made. Very satisfied.
