For ease of use, 2 rectangular and 4 round baskets are included with the cooker. The rectangular baskets are great for bulk preparation, while the round baskets are perfect for portioning pasta and cooking several types simultaneously, from linguine and cannelloni to macaroni or orzo.
During the day, the unit is easy to clean and maintain, thanks to its front-mounted drain and refill valves. This thing is great at keeping water hot all day. The direct water feed is nice because we set it at a trickle and never have to worry about it all day, just refills slowly as it evaporates. Our first stopped working after 6 months; the replacement stopped working after 7 months. It has a TERRIBLE design! The heating element is permanently fixed right over the drain. Noodles fall under the element and get trapped. They are near impossible to get out unless you get a stick and try to shove them through the drain hole. So hard to keep clean.
