We recently purchased this product at our senior center to serve soup from and have it continue to hold at a safe temperature. The only small problem we have found so far is that we had to use a smaller soup ladle because the lid only opens half way to serve out of.

This rethermalizer is very easy to use and heats the food very quickly and evenly. We purchased these kettles in both 7qt and 11qt specifically for oatmeal - which has been working very nicely. The kettle shape and copper metal is a really nice touch in the right setting - it definitely stands out against the stainless steel look that is most common in the catering and hospitality business. What I really like about the kettle is that the power cord connects at the very bottom so you can rotate the kettle to hide the heat dial to the side or facing the wall. There is also an 7qt inset sold by Vollrath that allows the kettle to also accommodate a smaller pot when needed.
Great soup reheater. Visually looks very nice on our counter. Very well made, heats soup fast and stays hot. We also use it during Halloween as a large candy cauldron, just remove the soup container from the inside.
These work well in a variety of locations. Either for buffets, functions or large parties or for convenience mom and pop stores to sell their home make soups and chowders.
