Looks modern and I feel it's easier to clean. The metal ones kept falling apart and gunk would get stuck in between the plastic handle and metal part.

Used it once and have now wasted money. I have always used the cheap metal scoops and decided to try this one thinking Vollrath would put out a great product; you know, you get what you pay for. Well, because its plastic and molded, you are stuck with the shape of the scoop. When you put the fry bag on to fill it, the angle of the sides stretch the fry bag so tight that you cannot get any fries in. Very frustrating. I'll stick with the cheap-os. Don't waste your money.

The Vallarta fry scoop is a really good quality scoop. There are cheaper ones out there, but pay the extra for this one. I highly recommend it.
