Today, we are delighted to introduce to you the brand new EK Omnia. Now the EK Omnia is a new grinder to sit within the EK range alongside the EK43 and EK43S. But the Omnia brings a whole host of advanced new features never seen before in a grinder like this. So allow me to walk you through these awesome new features.

Okay, so starting at the top of the grinder, the AC motor has now been replaced with an advanced new brushless DC motor. This is not only more energy efficient, but also creates less coffee spray and is near silent when operational. Moving around to the front of the grinder, you'll notice that the Omnia features a very familiar adjustment dial, but as well as this, it now features a high-definition touch green display in the center. This enables the Omnia to access all kinds of smart new features, as well as displaying accurate grind information.

Okay, so let's talk grind modes. The Omnia has three grind modes: classic mode, timed mode, and library mode. Classic mode keeps things classic. Those familiar with using an EK43 will feel right at home grinding with the OMNIA. Simply turn the dial to the desired number and grind. The numbers are displayed around the outside of the adjustment dial, as well as a number displaying the disc distance is displayed in the center. Once the user has an approximate grind setting, Omnia unlocks the potential to fine-tune that grind. Touch the center of the display to access the tap adjust menu, then simply tap plus or minus to adjust the grind in very small increments.

The next mode is time mode. Here, the barista can create recipes for different coffees or brew methods and assign the grind size as well as grind time. Once saved, the recipes can be easily accessed at the swipe of a finger. The grind will then automatically move the dial on its own, ready for the next grind. Then, once the start-stop button is activated, Omnia will grind and then stop at a desired time.

The final mode is library mode. This mode has been designed to work alongside the pre-dosing unit and porter filter holder. These are official Omnioa accessories that are coming soon and will be available to purchase separately. When attached, the user will be able to adjust the grind size as well as the dose. The Omnia will then automatically set the grind and dispense the correct amount of beans volumetrically into the grinding chamber and grind. We think this mode will be an exciting new innovation brought to the EK and will make espresso workflow a breeze when combined with these accessories. Moving down to the grinding chute and bag holder. We wanted this to have a very familiar feel across the EK range, but this again has some great new features packed into it. The chute now includes a removable steel tube, which helps cut down on static and coffee spray and can be removed for easy cleaning. At the exit of the shoot, we have now also included an LED spotlight. Now you can see exactly what you're grinding, no matter what the lighting conditions. The LED spotlight can be toggled on or off via the settings menu.

As before, the knocker still doubles up as a handy bag clip for retail coffee or to hold your favorite dosing cup. Below the chute at the base of the grinder, we've included a large tray designed to catch stray grinds and to keep your workspace clean and tidy. This tray is held in place by a ring of very strong magnets, so after cleanup, it snaps right back into place with ease.

On the side of the Omnia, we have the new start-stop button. We have increased the size of the button to make it easy to find without looking, plus it has a built-in status light in the shape of an "O" to tell you the grinder's operation.

Our team wanted to keep consistency across the EK range. So, of course, with the Omnia, we have fitted the legendary and proven 98 millimeter car steel burs made in Germany, as used in the iconic EK43. These legendary burs are loved by coffee professionals all over the world for our industry-leading grinding quality and speed. We are so excited for you to try the EK Omnia for yourselves, and we cannot wait to see it in coffee shops all over the world.
