Be sure to flush all piping thoroughly before installation. Locate a suitable place that's as close to the point of use as possible and will be accessible for service and adjustment. Connect hot and cold water to the supply valve using 3/8" compression connections. Make sure the copper tubing does not extend more than 3/16" beyond the compression furl. Connect the outlets of the mixing valve to the fixture inlets. Turn on the hot and cold water supplies. Tighten connections as necessary if any leaks occur. Turn on the fixture and allow water to flow for two minutes. Using a thermometer, measure the hot water temperature at the faucet outlet. The recommended maximum temperature is 105 degrees Fahrenheit. If water is not at the desired temperature, adjust as necessary. For best valve performance, the hot and cold water inlet supply temperatures should be at equal pressure or within 5 to 10% of each other. It's important to note that a point-of-use valve will have a spike in temperature at initial draw, since the thermostatic element sits in ambient temperature when not in use. Upon fresh draw, the temperature will rise above the set point for a few seconds on the outlet before the actuator corrects the hot-to-cold ratio to hold set point.
