Physio-Control Inc Products Provide Life Saving Treatment
Physio-Control was founded in 1955 by Dr. Karl William Edmark, a cardiovascular surgeon from Seattle, WA. Edmark’s first prototype was a portable defibrillator that operated on a breadboard, or circuit board, instead of using AC power like standard defibrillators of the time. Physio-Control went on to produce many more innovative products, including the first heart rate indicator.
