The Mott’s brand got its start in 1842 when Samual R. Mott began growing apples and making cider products in Bouckville, New York. To process his apples, Mott used pasteurization and filtration techniques that he learned from his father. The company started out selling cider and vinegar to locals in Bouckville, but by the end of the century, Mott’s products were being sold across the country.
