The concept behind E-Z Up began in 1983 when Mark Carter realized there was a need for a convenient pop-up canopy shelter that was easy to set up and required no loose parts. He worked on prototypes in his parent’s garage in southern California and eventually created the first E-Z Up Instant Shelter. Mark’s first product became very popular and soon the demand required that he expand into a bigger work space.
