Use this is de-scale my fish. The rugged shape makes it easy to descale even big fish. I use to use wooden Japanese descaler, but the handle fell off. This one is one piece so I don't have to worry that either.
Pretty sturdy product. It's 2-part construction, so the only real point of potential failure would be for the surface with the teeth to separate from the handle. Not likely, and even then, you could still use the teeth without the comfort of the handle. Looks like it could make short work of some real industrial fish scaling. Might be a bit of overkill for my home kitchen, but go big or go...home?

this scaler feels pretty industrial and a little clunky but it is solid and gets the job done. it has a long handle which is really nice so you can get a good grip and it works out in terms of getting scales off of fish
