In 1929, Thad Garner bought a small barbecue restaurant and acquired the secret recipe for its special, signature sauce. The Garners, inspired by the popular cowboy heroes of the 1930s, named the sauce Texas Pete. This was a nod to its strength and American origin. Today, the Texas Pete brand features a selection of spicy sauces, but still champions the epic, bold flavor that first shocked taste buds so many years ago.
