Details
Delight your customers with a sustainable, more healthful offering by serving these TenderBison 40 lb. femur bones in your eatery! The perfect gourmet offering, these bison femur bones are left whole so they can be customized to your needs or cooked whole for a sophisticated presentation. These bones contain intensely flavorful, nutrient-packed bone marrow that can be roasted for an incredible, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Easy to prepare, simply place the bones on a baking sheet and roast in the oven at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 15 minutes. Once roasted, the bone marrow should be a soft, spreadable texture and can be served with toasted sourdough bread, shallot and caper topping, and blue cheese. You can also blend the roasted bone marrow into a savory compound butter that can be used to enhance your bison steaks with deep, complex flavor. Or, you can add these bones to water and aromatics in a stock pot to create hearty, healthy bone broth. Bone marrow is known to boost the immune system, improve digestion, and support joint health due to high collagen levels, making it a healthful and profitable addition to your menu.
American bison, also known as buffalo, features a flavor profile very similar to conventional beef, with no gaminess and a pleasant sweetness on the finish. Although it tastes a lot like beef, bison has a healthier nutritional profile than beef. Bison is lower in fat, cholesterol, and calories than beef, but higher in protein, B vitamins, copper, iron, potassium, and zinc, making it a great choice for customers who are concerned with heart health or eating a more nutritious diet! All the healthy micronutrients in bison meat are thanks to the animals' free range lifestyle. In addition to eating a varied diet that makes their meat more flavorful and healthy, they also help to restore their native plains ecosystems, as opposed to cows, which deplete the land they graze on. Bison also produce less carbon emissions than cows and are never raised with antibiotics, stimulants, or hormones! Add this open-range grazed, tried and true meat offering to your menu to capture a growing share of the consumers looking for traditional beef alternatives.
