Ensure style and functionality within your beverage service lineup with this Scotsman Meridian® countertop ice machine and water dispenser. This unit dispenses both ice and water in one convenient location, allowing you to provide refreshing, cool beverages to your customers. With SmoothStream water dispensing technology, it offers reduced splashing to keep the machine and surrounding areas clean. It features a 24-hour yield of 320 lb. of 3/4" x 5/16" x 3/8" nugget ice and has a built-in ice bin with a 12 lb. storage capacity. One of the most popular forms around, nugget ice is light, airy, chewable, and slow-melting, and it retains some of the drink's flavor. This energy-efficient, air-cooled unit operates quietly using R-290 refrigerant, and its sealed refrigeration system minimizes airborne contamination.
This unit has infrared sensors for touch-free, sanitary dispensing. Plus, it has Agion and other antimicrobial compounds molded into its key components to inhibit the growth of harmful pathogens, ensuring your ice is suitable for consumption. It has a durable stainless steel evaporator and exterior panels, and it features a large sink opening and spacious dispensing area with an 11" clearance. It includes intuitive diagnostic LED lights to reduce service times and a USB drive for quick software updates. It includes a unit-specific QR code that instantly connects users to warranty and service information. Its sealed bearings, fully removable bin, air filter, sink, grill, and spouts, and front-accessible air filter provide easy upkeep.
This unit comes with a sturdy Scotsman enclosed equipment stand to save valuable counter space and keep your machine out of the way. This stand is made of durable stainless steel for easy cleaning and maintenance, and it has a back panel that allows you to run the necessary utilities to your dispenser. Its 6" adjustable legs provide leveling on uneven floors and allow for easy cleaning underneath, while its door conceals the interior. This ice machine requires a 115V electrical connection for operation, and it comes with a 7 1/2' power cord.
How do I match up ice machines, bins, and dispensers?
To help you find the right bin / dispenser / machine combination for your needs, you'll find manufacturer recommended ice bins and dispensers listed in either the Works With items or the Accessories & Options dropdown on each ice machine's product page. Dispensers and ice bins will have manufacturer recommended ice machines listed in the Works With items on their pages. If the bin or dispenser is wider than the ice machine, additional adapters, deflectors, and/or top kits may be necessary to join the machine to the bin. Please refer to the provided documentation on the ice machine and ice bin / dispenser product pages for more information.
Additionally, adapter and deflector kits can be used to match up ice machines with other types of bins / dispensers. I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?
R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program.
My ice machine has been shut down for awhile, how should I restart it?
If your ice machine has been shut down or not in use for a prolonged period time, please reference your machine's user-manual for a restart procedure, often called “Winterization." Please reference your user manual or contact customer service with any questions.
Should I buy an air-cooled or water-cooled ice machine?
Air-cooled ice machines are the most common choice. They're more energy-efficient and use much less water than a water-cooled model. Unless you are replacing an existing water-cooled unit or are operating under very high ambient temperatures, you probably will want an air-cooled unit. It's a great idea to check what your existing unit is before placing your order so that the installation of the new one will go smoothly!

The sensors don't work properly if you're using a white paper cup. We tested it with other colors and it worked fine. Unfortunately our restaurant - like most - uses white paper cups.
