Hi, I'm Matt Broad with Fortessa and Schott Zwiesel. Today, we're going to talk about Schott Zwiesel's revolutionary Tritan crystal glass. While these two glasses may look similar, they are in fact very different. What makes Tritan different is actually a combination of the composition and the production process. With regard to the composition, Zwiesel actually created an entirely new category of glass. Traditionally, crystal was made with lead oxide as one of the components, but Zwiesel asked, 'why use lead'? It's poisonous, it's an environmental contaminant, and it is soft. So, we replaced lead with titanium.
