I make a lot of nut butters, and to make those properly you need to let the processor do its thing for quite some time. The polycarbonate bowls get warm, if not downright hot. I upgraded to the SS bowl and it is so much better for my primary use. Yes, it will still get hot, but at least for me, it alleviates any worry I have of plastic chemicals leeching into my food.

I love stainless and will take it over polycarbonate or glass any time. Looks better, easier to clean and will never break. My polycarbonate bowls tend to scratch and look quite tired and used after a while. Stainless fair much better for much longer.
