The glass itself is very solid and a good shape for many purposes. The reason I am knocking off one star is that the base is not exactly 2-1/4" - it doesnt fit into tasting paddle holes. If you do not need them to fit an exact opening, then I highly recommend them.

I have done home whiskey tastings and classes to over 200 people and this is the glass I use. Other, smaller, whiskey glasses are great for nosing and tasting but are pretty impractical in the cupboard. I always use the Master's Reserve 9217 because it does great in tastings but has the added benefit of being great for a dram with ice or a cocktail in the evening.
