Purchased this heavy duty can opener 5 months ago. So far, so good. Opens a number 10 can in just four and one half turns. I like the stainless steel base. Won't rust or corrode like some others. Best part: how easy it is to remove the blade for cleaning and re-assembly.
It's a great can opener! We use it every day and have for over a year and haven't had any problems. If it gets a little wonky from overuse, just tighten the screws up a bit and it's good as new.
I’m very pleased with this can opener. I replaced an old cab opener with slipping gears with this new VollRath. It bites onto the cans tightly and removes their tops with minimal effort. When time to clean we just slide the whole unit from it’s housing and rinse it off, give it a pat dry, and you’re back in action. It’s also comforting to know that the blades are replaceable If one was ever to wear out or break.
We have had this opener for almost 3 months. So far very pleased with it. The volrath can opener's gear grips the can very well compared to our "old reliable" can opener
I HAVE HAD FOR ONE MONTH AND THE GEARS ARE STRIPPED AND LEAVING SHARDS OF METAL IN CAN. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. THE PRICE IS APPEALING BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WOULD GIVE IT A NEGATIVE STAR.

We open a few gallon-size cans each day, and this can opener has done the job without complaint. I tried to get by with cheaper, light-duty can openers before, but they inevitably broke. This has been in daily service for a year and shows no signs of weakening.
Great opener. I originally order this one so i won't have to drill hole on my table. It didn't hold tight enough so i ended up having to drill hole anyways. Otherwise this thing work great. The blade pushes right up against the can so no sharp edges at all on the can, only the lid. It open the can quickly. Love the product.
had the hand held openers for years . many many of them too lazy to buy this sooner. Must have gone through 5 -8 per year on the hand held ones because hey keep breaking. This was perfect . my staff was grateful too.
