I am really happy with this mercer Combination Sharpening Stone. It is nice and compact, so it is easy to store, and it does a great job of sharpening.

Very good stone for the price point. Soaking is pretty quick and the 1000 grit is great for regular job. 3000 is too fine for most use so it is really a bonus.

Great stone. I am new to sharpening, but was easily able to reform the chipped edge of a Henkels knife, and bring it into good sharpness. The coarse side is good for removing material and forming the edge, and the fine side finishes the blade to decent sharpness. The rubber base is a nice touch, and the price is pretty reasonable!

I've tried the electric sharpeners and they are better than nothing, but don't get the knife all the way. I would recommend a stone with around 800-1200 grit for regular sharpening. The 3000 grit side is just a bonus for me.
