The can opener is useless, the blade doesn't even go down enough to puncture the can...

This is what I got ... already pitted up and rusting! Not very happy!

This can opener is awesome it attaches to our stainless steel work table and gets the job done. Love that it is sturdy and and durable.

Garbage. First one I thought was perhaps defective. Got a replacement gear/blade set, which only continued to make it be garbage. Ordered a second entire unit, which was also garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS CAN OPENER.

I purchased this unit, installed the base plate and attempted to use it then found out that the bar does not fit into the base. after about a week of emails and sending pictures they sent me a new base plate which then did fit. It worked "ok" for about a couple weeks but not after almost 2 months it hardy grabs the cans and mostly just spreads metal shavings everywhere. i thought because of the good review score it got it wast worth saving the money on getting this cheap unit. I replaced a 2o year old edlund unit cause it was just old and beat up and needed all new parts, Now i wish we kept the old unit do i could rebuild it, i am not purchasing a new can opener.

I bought this due to budget was tight. I do NOT recommend. Noticed after a week or two some slipping. Still works but will slip and leave shavings. When I noticed the shavings had to discard hundreds of dollars of food, cant take that risk. Spend more on a quality product and don't risk a piece of metal in someone's food.

ive used the one i had for over 12 years. it worked great. i didnt properly maintain the gear assembly so it finally needed to be replaced. it just arrived today and I am very pleased with it. i definitely will know to keep the gears oiled at proper intervals this time. very pleased ! thank you

Went with a lower priced item to save money and the item gets the job done sometimes. The tooth didn’t always grab the can the best and sometimes doesn’t open the can all the way.

VERY POOR QUALITY - on FIRST USE was not able to open a #10 can of pineapples. I bought 3 of these for multiple locations and did not even open the other 2 and now trying to return them and they will not accept a return on these items. Huge waste of money! Buy Edlund - they are solid quality and work!

Used this Product for less than 2 weeks, and the gears stopped grabbing the cans. If your using a high amount of cans, I would not suggest this product.

This can opener doesn't open cans as mush as roughly tear the lids off leaving metal shavings in the food. I had to throw away $30 worth of food because this can opener was so defective it contaminated all of the product with pieces of metal. It is a health and safety hazard and a complete piece of garbage. AND it only comes with the bolts to install it, but NOT the nuts. Oh...AND it's not returnable!

not bad but naturally the more expensive you go the better it gets this one will break down on you over time has mine for 2 years almost and some cans just can’t get a grip on

This product is garbage. Blade is dull and creates metal shavings that fall into the product being opened. This is a serious food safety hazard and should be removed from the market.

Does not open cans properly, Worse than a handheld can opener

The can opener broke in 4 months. Of course the return window and warranty is 90 days. Cheap product!!

Does not open cans. It does not grasp the can when cranking the handle. The handle broke after opening the 5th can. Useless. Do not buy! It arrived with the box open and missing mounting screws.

First one did not cut properly and left metal shreds on the cans and was getting into the food. Websaurant replaced. Second one the gears slip and it does not open cans ealisly. Tried to return and it was past the return time. We are a school district and final return date fell during our holiday and I did not get a chance to request the return prior to the holiday. You get what you pay for.

Don't waste money on this Can opener. We order the first one, did not open #10 cans. Webstaurantstore was nice enough to send us a second one because they said once we used it we could not return it( how could I understand it didn't work properly without using it???). Unfortunately the second one is the same. The gears slip and it fails at the only job it has. It does not open any size cans.

Poor quality. I should have read the reviews more carefully before buying. The design looks similar to others, but I chose it because of the lower price. However, it’s unusable due to its functionality when turning to open canned food. The part that opens the can scrapes against it, causing metal shavings to fall into the food. I had to throw away an entire can of coconut milk. Don’t buy this item.

The can opener would not go all the way around a #10 can without re-inserting the blade, from it's first use. It gradually got worse, to the point where smaller cans could not be opened with it. I just purchased a replacement gear and blade, but that did not help. Judging from some of the other reviews, I believe there is a manufacturing or design flaw. When the handle is pushed down to turn and open a can, the can is not gripped firmly between the gear and the blade. I purchased it less than 6 months ago. Wasted my money for the purchase of the opener and the replacement gear/blade.

Teeth and threads wore down quickly without much use

This can opener is useless. Every time it's used, there are metal shavings from the can that can get into the food. Also, it doesn't work too well to open the can.

Had this can opener for less than a year, we open about 3 to 4 cans a day. this can opener stopped working about 4 months ago and since then I have spent more money replacing parts and it still doesn't work. I replaced the gear then which didn't help so then I replaced the blade and that didn't help either. of course it's now out of warranty so I am stuck with this. Never buy this can opener.

Opens every can except #10 cans! Will not open #10 cans without making a huge mess. I do not understand why Webstaurant wants me to use so many words to tell you that this is Garbage!

We purchased this item then it sat on the shelf for months before I installed. . It was a mistake to purchase this. Will not grip the cans. 4 of us have tried to utilize this opener so I do not believe it is any type of operator error. I carefully checked to insure parts were aligned. Waste of money. Normally, Choice Prep products work well for us but this one is terrible. Beware>

i purchsed this product few weeks ago. It is very poor quality. It didn't even work at the first time use. Don't buy this product.

Only con to this piece of equipment is the cleanliness. Make sure to clean this after every use. This is a must have piece of kitchen equipment. I highly recommend this product to any and every kitchen.

You have #10 cans, you can't use the store opener, this is what you use. We use this every day and it has not let us down. Its also very easy to clean.

Used only a few times and the opener does not grip well and leaves shards of thin metal in the food. Safety hazard. Would not recommend at all.Its hard to turn as well.

This can opener did not meet our expectations . This can opener was used minimally (maybe 7 cans/week), it did not last longer than one year.

This is horrible. Even our Executive Chef cannot figure out how to put this thing together to make it actually cut open a can... We've tried YouTube as well... maybe its just the operator but...idk

The first can opener broke the first time we used it. The replacement can opener i received at the end of Sept 2019 broke with very little use shortly after the 90 day warranty window. The knob fell off and we continued to use it until we noticed that metal shavings were falling out of the gear mechanism on top of the cans we were opening. Major hazard! This can opener is inferior quality, I would give it zero stars if it was an option.

If I could give a 0 rating I would. Don't waste your time. Absolute garbage, didn't even get one can opened. I didn't get it installed right away so didn't bother trying to return it.

This manual can opener works well for cans of all sizes. This product works well and is easy to use with little effort, It also does not take up much room and has shown no signs of rust or corroding.

I was a little hesitant with about this purchase but after receiving it and using this one it is really well built. And a good value for money. Another great purchase from the WebstaurantStore.

I wish I had read the reviews. The negative ones were spot on. This is a very poor quality can opener that malfunctioned immediately. It will not grab cans with the teeth and is useless for anything other than a paperweight. Get the more expensive brand and save yourself the trouble.

When our previous can opener was worn out this one took its place. It is outstanding quality and holds up well to very heavy use.

Well made, very sturdy product. Only used a few times and blade seems to be sharp. Would recommend for light duty kitchen or like me food trailer.
