ARY VacMaster VP215 Chamber Vacuum Packaging Machine with 10 1/4" Seal Bar

Item #: 120VMASVP215

The VacMaster VP215 chamber vacuum packaging machine provides all the great features of the VP210, but with added power! It can apply up to 29 3/4"Hg of suction, when most competitors' models can only reach 26" at most! This powerful tabletop chamber vacuum package machine is ideal for liquids and liquid-rich foods since air is sucked out of the entire chamber when sealing, not just the bag itself. By doing so, the air pressure is equalized both inside and outside of the bag, keeping liquids in and ensuring a superior seal every time.

Item purchased new but it defective from the start. After several concerned calls to the manufacturer (Ary) about the condition of the oil in the pump, all within the first 30 days of use, the motor finally seized. Ary will only fix and not replace with new. So I am stuck with a factory defect after paying for a new unit.

Bought this unit in November 2014. We use it 100 cycles/month on average. I had to replace the key that connects the motor to the pump in the summer of 2015. Since then we've changed the oil religiously on the first of the month using ARY oil. That same key just broke today. I"m so mad. We barely use this thing any more. The oil is clean. And it will still break. The filters can be clean and it will still break. It's worse because ARY doesn't care. Obviously webstaurant isn't at fault here, but ARY's service sucks. Their tech is grumpy and assumes that you are an idiot, even after you've shown him that you can take the whole machine apart and put it back together again. They just wanted to charge me for another vacuum pump today. But they won't have pumps in stock for another 3 weeks at least. No thank you! I'm gonna buy a different brand! Anyhow, I"m disappointed. It worked for a bit. Then it didn't. Didn't work for long enough IMO for the price. I don't have time to fix it. I"m gonna sent it to the scrap yard unless one of y'all wants it!

We have had our VacMaster now for about 3 years and have used 6 cases (6000) bags and sealed several hundred jars. It has NEVER failed to perform flawlessly. We have suck all sorts of stuff; soup, meats, veggies, grains, clothing, money, and other stuff. The only thing you have to be careful of is that whatever you are sucking does not puncture the bags and you MUST be careful and take your time to place the bags properly to get a good seal. The machine is fairly quiet and VERY easy to use. Changing bag thickness is as easy as adjusting the sealing time, which takes less than 5 seconds. We typically run the unit on a 35 second vacuum cycle, 2.3 second seal time, and a 3 second cool off time. The cool off time gives the bag a chance to "re-solidify" before the vacuum is released in the chamber. If the cool off time is not long enough it will tear the seal some. The unit came with a new sealing heater strip and cover and in the three years we have used it, we have not needed it! Bottom line: If you are going to use a vacuum sealer more than just a few times a year, this is the unit you want. Thousands and thousands of bags sealed flawlessly. What more could you ask for?

BE ADVISED: Heads up if theres a problem its YOUR problem. Webstaurant will not help you, they pass the puck on to the manufacturer. We've had this product for 1 day it was received as damaged/defective 1DAY and webstaurant tells you to deal with the manufacturer retreating to the "manufacturers warranty." Called manufacturer, to trouble shoot over phone. Now have to ship to manufacturer (3days lead time) they'll look at and repair (no idea how long that will take they don't work weekends) then 3days of shipping lead time for them to ship back to us. So bought a product I needed for my business and I will have to wait weeks to be able to use it. As for shipping back to webstaurant to return the item, they told me I'd have to pay the shipping and a 30% restocking fee.

    from 1kept Posted on

Thank you for the review. We're sorry you're frustrated with this. The restocking fee is for standard returns. If this unit is deemed defective, you may not be subject to the restocking fee.

Awesome tool and super functional cooking aid (rapid infusions, sous vide, etc.) and toy. We love this thing and it has been flawless after 16 months with use several times a week, up to an hour at a time. In retrospect, we should have purchased 4 mil bags instead of 3 because we pack some poky things sometimes and the 3 mil bags don't hold up to much abuse.

We use the heck out of ours. It has literally changed how we do everything at the restaurant. We bought it initially to be a part of our sous vide program but are also using it to help keep and store perishable products as well as accelerate infusions and marinating. Very simple maintenance and has, thus far, been entirely reliable. If you're going to go down this path, don't skimp and buy a cheaper unit. Just get something pro like this. Research it, the ones that just suck air out of the bags are not as versatile as these chamber units.

The vacuum sealer is everything I had hoped it would be. It is big, powerful, and very sturdily made. the oil pump adds sped power, and lots of longevity to the unit when compared to the "dry rocker pumps" in the 210, 120, and 112. additionally, spare parts are available if needed. The oil pump is pretty easy to fill (15 minutes the first time to get the hang of it, then maybe 10), and doesn't need maintenance very often (once or twice a year), so don't let it scare you. The needed oil is included ( about a 5 year supply, depending on use, from what I can tell), as well as a spare fuse and a couple other maintenance items like a screwdriver.

First, Webrestaurantstore had the vp215 on my doorstep within 3 days of ordering. The unit arrived in great shape. Great service. Second, the machine is easy to use and I love it. But to be honest it may not be right for everyone. It is heavy and it takes up a fair amount of counter space. Not everyone will want to do the maintenance (oil changes) on the vacuum pump. The pump is is easy to get at and and oil changes will probably take less than 10 minutes when needed. If you can live with these factors you will definitely like this machine. For sous vide cooking the pump only needs to run for 18 seconds for me to get to the proper vacuum level. You will find lots of other things to use this for. For instance a half onion comes out of a vacuum bag after four days looking like you just cut it. No more worrying about liquid that may be in the pouch!

Having used chamber vacuum sealers in many restaurants, I decided to get one for myself for home (and work-from-home) use. I was already familiar with this model/unit/brand, and Webstaurantstore has by far the best price I've found, so I decided to buy myself one for my birthday. Although shipping was a little bit of a pain (it got shipped over a holiday weekend, so tracking got a little confusing), it came in decent time. Everything was good out of the box and I did a bunch of random experiments to test it (compressing peaches, vacuum packaging cheese, infusing watermelon, etc.) and every time things worked out perfectly. This is a seriously solid machine thus far.

An excellent chamber vacuum packer for home use, although it's way too heavy to move around constantly, or even infrequently. You'll want to have a space set aside where it will be accessible. Functionally it's been perfect for the year or so I've been using it. No issues at all.

Needed something other than a FoodSaver. So far this thing has been almost perfect for my jerky packaging. I wish I could afford the larger one so I can vacuum seal whole smoked briskets.

Have owned this for 6 months and was hesitant to spend that kind of money on a vacuum bagging machine. The ability to vacuum wet items like soup was the most appealing to my purchase. I regret I didn't own a chamber vacuum sealer for the last 30 years. It is so much better than a Foodsaver type machine and you never loose vacuum while in the freezer. I stack excess soups like cordwood in the freezer and have the ability to eat a variety of foods on a whim when time doesn't allow for cooking fresh. This is just a fantastic product and I couldn't be happier. A chamber vacuum has so many advantages over non-chamber machines. A couple of tips: make sure the foods you vacuum are cooled or you are going to introduce moisture into the vacuum pump. Change the pump oil whenever it becomes cloudy which is a sign of moisture contamination.

I sure like this machine. The best one I've had yet. I would certainly recommend this machine to anyone who is serious about a high quality sealer.

The VacMaster works great for our needs. It's easy for all the staff to use without much instruction. Use it to seal boudin links and fish.

This machine took a little tinkering to set up, but once I put the oil in, and cleaned it out, the vacuum sealer is easy to use and seals things very quickly! And it didn't take very much work to set it up.

Vacuum sealer with freshly sealed steak. Super easy to use.

We loved this machine for the first couple of months. Now it doesn't seal properly and we can no longer use. We have called many times to the manufacturer and they were nice enough but it never worked again properly. We are now throwing out an expensive machine after less than two years. We do not have a clue as to what to do with it now. Wish we were some of the lucky ones that it worked well.

This thing is awesome, and gets nearly daily use in my home kitchen. From prepping food for sous vide, to storing sheets of leftover soup to freeze, this beast has you covered. I had previously gone through 4 Food-savers in 3 years and wish I had made the move to the VP215 after the 1st Food-saver broke, as it does more, vacuums better, and is clearly built to last.

As a hunter and fisherman I use my vacuum sealer quite often. I have gone through 3 of the "other" external style sealers in the last few years. After finally biting the bullet and getting a chamber type I can't believe I waited this long. For the money it can't be beat. It does a way better job that those low cost dealers. And the others don't last!! Setup is simple, pull off the rear cover (with the supplied screwdriver), fill the pump (with the supplied oil), and plug it in. It only takes one or two test bags to fine tune the setting for the task at hand. Only downfall, is that is heavy (85lbs) and kind of awkward to carry up and down stairs. Overall, I love this vacuum sealer and would highly recommend it.

I bought this on a whim and didn't expect much. Boy, was I wrong. This machine gets so much use whether I'm sealing unsold food for another day or just the occasional hat. Definitely a must have!

This ARY VaMasters is a beast in our kitchen being used all day long. No better vacuum packer for the money out there. Just keep an eye on your oil levels ( Which I wish was easier to fill) . Only problem we had was a leaky pump motor which was replaced under warranty. So best advise SAVE YOUR BOX AND PACKING MATERIAL. If you have to send in for warranty you will have big problems shipping securely without the box! That and the wait to get it back!

We love the ARY VP215. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

We've had this model for a few years now. it's used heavily every single day, 363 days a year. Very solid unit, still performs very well, creates a very strong vacuum for sous vide cooking and modern applications.

Great vacuum chamber. The only complain I have would be that the machine is a little too heavy, so if you get this realize that you will not be able to easily relocate it unless you hit the gym regularly or don't mind risking a heart attack.

I just got this baby delivered today and tried to vacuum a few items! I love it love it love it! I vacuumed cooked chicken and veggie dish with moisture in it and it came out great! I tried to vacuum some cherries the vacuum is so strong I felt like it was gonna burst the cherries inside! But the cherries were fine! For my application, using an 8x12 bag, it took about 30 seconds to reach full vacuum with the filler plates in! Loving this product so far and I just keep looking for items to vacuum seal around the house now!

I've been using good old food saver to vacuum seal all my food. This machine works great if you want to vacuum seal product with liquids. This is very very heavy, requires two people to lift and move it, but I don't have any problem since I don't intent to move it around. One star off because this machine is not ETL certified. Your local health department may require the machine with ETL certification if you want to get HACCP certified.

I love this machine. We use it every day for almost everything (chicken, NY Strips, Tenderloins, fresh salmon, fresh vegetables and more). We vacuum seal everything and then cook them in the same bags in the steamers or Sous Vide. This is a great addition to any kitchen. Highly recommended.

My interest in getting a vacuum sealer began with getting into sous vide cooking. Initially I planned to get an external vacuum sealer, quickly migrating from a FoodSaver product to either a Weston or VacMaster Pro 350. I read the reviews and watched the videos on both the external and chamber vacuum sealers. It was hard to justify spending 3 times the price for a chamber sealer, but in the end it came down to the following: • Absolutely no problem with vacuum sealing products with liquids present • An oil lubricated vacuum pump over a dry one • Much less costly chamber vacuum sealer bags • It is very quiet • It is very durable; it is definitely commercial quality I also considered the less costly VP 113s; however, it looks rather flimsy, has a dry vacuum pump, and is something I thought I would regret saving money on. I was somewhat deterred by the reviews that state unless you are going to use it a great deal, get an external sealer. I doubt I will fall into the category of meeting the standard of using it a great deal, as I have only sealed 25 to 30 bags so far, but having bought it, I am glad I did and didn’t settle for an external sealer. I am very impressed with it and can see we will use it much more than I had envisioned; however, that means it must be readily accessible in your kitchen, rather than out in the garage as some have it. You need to have a dedicated space in your kitchen, just like your microwave. As others note, it isn’t easily portable at 84 lbs. Fortunately we have plenty of counter space, hence having it readily available was easy, though we set it on a lower height counter to accommodate the lid. There are plenty of videos adequately showing how the unit works, so no need to add one. Probably the biggest thing to remember is that if you want to leave the sealer with the lid down you need to turn it off since it automatically begins the sealing process when the lid goes down. One use I hadn’t expected was resealing jars like Cheez Whiz. Simply lay the jar in the sealer with the lid on a bit loose, set the sealing time to zero, and the jar is sealed as good as from the processing plant. The same is true of products like sour cream or whipping cream whose shelf life can be extended by putting them in ½ height mason jars and vacuum sealing. The only problem I experienced, which I gather is not that unusual, is that the oil/gas separator was broken off in shipment. It results from tipping the vacuum sealer on its side, perhaps accompanied by a jar. When the spring mounted vacuum pump tips, the oil/gas separator, which is mounted on top of the pump, hits the very sturdy hinge casting on the sealer and the connection to the vacuum pump breaks. When I contacted VacMaster about the damage, the technical rep said it regularly happens and while they were initially going to forward me a replacement, since I bought the sealer from WebstaurantStore, they forwarded the claim to them. WebstaurantStore contacted me immediately and shipped me a replacement oil/gas separator without any hassle and in record time. I had no difficulty dealing with them. The damage; however, is totally preventable if VacMaster made an extremely simple change in preparing the sealer for shipment. The vacuum sealer itself is packed very well, as shown in various videos, with double boxes and the sealer unit set in foam supports. However, if VacMaster was to simply insert a block of solid foam between the vacuum pump and the side of the vacuum sealer case so that the vacuum pump could not tip during shipment, the problem would be entirely eliminated. Alternatively, the vacuum pump could be secured for shipment with removable cable ties. The cost for either option would be minimal and easily covered by eliminating the cost of replacing oil/gas separators. VacMaster warns against tipping the unit on its side, but the fact is, it is pretty much impossible, once these units are individually shipped, to control that from happening. The incremental cost to ship the sealer secured to a pallet so it can’t be tipped adds much more to the expense of shipping than the minimal cost of inserting a foam block or using cable ties. It would require some planning since it would be easiest to do this at the factory, something done with a multitude of appliances and equipment. The foam block or cable ties would be easily removed by the purchaser when they take the back cover off to fill the pump with oil. If VacMaster doesn’t do this at the factory, it would still be possible for firms like WebstaurantStore to do so. I had some reservations about buying the sealer from WebstaurantStore after reading some negative reviews regarding potential shipping damage and some purchaser’s difficulty in resolving damage issues. In the end, because WebstaurantStore had the best price, and they had the sealer in stock, I purchased it from them. They shipped it immediately and I had no difficulties in dealing with them about the damage. They treated me extremely well and without any hesitation or push-back. They promptly forwarded a replacement oil/gas separator without charge, which also meant sending it to Canada. I would not hesitate in dealing with WebstaurantStore in the future and highly recommend them and commend them for their service.

I'm writing this review after 9 month of use. It still works, though there are some noises, while pumping air out. I can say that it is small beast. Sometimes, I use it continuously for 2 hours (closing 140 bags in a row) and it makes it. It works great for me. Never had an issue with it.

While this item costs quite a bit, I have used to vacuum package over 1000 items. We use it when splitting up large packages of meat. We also use it to portion out large make-ahead dishes. It works so well during hunting season to preserve the meat. We also use it for sous vide cooking.

We have recently ventured into Sous Vide at my restaurant and this has been a tremendously great investment. We are a high volume operation and this absolutely has no issue keeping up. The main reason I purchased this unit was the oil pump, it gives us the opportunity to pack continuously unlike the cheaper units. Extremely happy!

I ordered the vp215 after looking for best value being offered by several different manufacturers. After trying to order the same unit from grain store in Nebraska (bad customer service) I found webstaurantstore and in a few minutes the unit was ordered w/bags and shipped the next day. Started using day I received it and wonder why I waited so long to order. This unit is perfect for home or work. I process several deer and game thought the year and lots of fish. And buy bulk at grocery stores ect. I have boasted about it to several friends (who now want to use it) that the price and machine are fantastic and recommend they buy one. Or they can pay a 1.00 a bag for me to shrink there stuff lol Bottom line, great unit, very good price and good customer service

Very happy with this purchase. Price much better than competitors. Delivery was fast considering it is 100lbs and cheap. Machine looks sturdy and well built. Functioning well out of the box. I feel that with the oil pump it should be a longer term investment. It seems easily serviceable at home when out of warranty. Plenty of easy replacement parts online with the site. It is amazing how the vacuum preserves foods. I think the sealer will be paid off by the food we would not be wasting anymore. We like to shop at other retailers but we always overshop on spoil-able food. We have used it for marinades as well and it works great. You cannot make a great seal on a regular out of chamber sealer when you have liquids inside the bag. Plus the bags will run less for vacmaster bags. If you reuse them once or twice, can go under a cent for the small ones. The packaging box came pretty beat up but after opening, I think this product has some of the best packaging I have ever seen... Fairly quiet overall if you care. I researched other similar machines from different companies and was very excited about features like not having to change the oil, all the electronics and the side port for canning. I feel that this unit is so much simpler and of course will have some learning curve to achieve similar results but will pay off in the long run in terms of simplicity and reliability once you get the know-how. Overall, an amazing solution to your everyday kitchen problems. Now, the bad. This thing is big, heavy and pretty much an eye sore in your kitchen. Cannot hide it and move it around when not needed without herniating your disks. While I find that the quality and reliability of things are generally directly proportional to weight, be prepared to deal with it if you use infrequently.

I have wanted a chamber vac for a while and this is the one to buy. With the oil vacuum pump you can get as much vacuum pressure as you want. Great for making compressed fruit or anything else that you can use a vacuum for. It is very high quality and very easy to use. The controls are easy to adjust for amount of vacuum, sealing time and seal bar cooling. This is the best price you will find anywhere. And if you want to talk about service, you will not find better service than Webstaurant, I ordered on Monday and it arrived Tuesday, I was amazed how quickly it arrived. It weighs 85 lbs and shipping weight is 105 lbs and the shipping was included at this price. OUTSTANDING customer service!

WOW! This Thing SUCKS!!! I am so HAPPY and AMAZED with the performance of this chamber vacuum sealer. My FoodSaver on its best day cannot compare to this unit. The bags are very economical and everyone loves using the machine. Try the Vodka Watermelon Slices! This thing Rocks!

Love the product. The machine itself is very good. Rock solid performance, It replaced my old Foodsaver that could not stand and barely used due to overheating problems, inability to properly seal wet food and poor suction that would leave air in the bag. The VP215 is exactly the opposite. It leaves no air in the bag. Not a single bad seal after about 300 sealed bags. It seals soups and chili in a regular bag with no issues. Super easy to use - I let my 10 year old do the sealing for me as I portion the food in the bags. One thing you need to be clear about - this sealer is relatively big and very heavy. As such, you need to have it permanently stationed in the area where you will be using. You don't want to move it around. I have it in the kitchen and love the convenience of having it there any time I need it. If it were somewhere else and I had to walk over or bring it back and forth, I would not use it as much as I do, and I use it a lot.

Purchased this from The Webstaurantstore about 2 months ago. I use it for just about everything, but my favorite use is Sous Vide cooking. Seals flawlessly...well unless I overfill a bag with ingredients. This is of course no fault of the machine, and completely an "operators problem". Works flawlessly and surprisingly VERY QUIETLY. Much quieter than I expected. My old Foodmaster is much louder. Also quite fast. At 4000 ft altitude, this takes about 35 seconds to put a hard vac on almost anything! This thing is large and heavy, but it also screams quality!!! VERY WELL MADE! My younger brother is now saving up for one for his operation.

    from Nektar Posted on

This machine works great. We replaced a unit that only last us for two months. This unit is much quieter that the other and does a MUCH better job in evacuation of the bag along with the double seal strip. This machine is big and heavy, takes a lots of cabinet space to accommodate this unit. If your serious about vacuum sealing your various foods, this is the machine for you. Because of its weight don't expect to store this unit and bring it into the kitchen when you are ready to use it. I just don't see that happening. With the lid in the open position, the top front of the lid is 23 1/2" above the cabinet top. So you either need an area that the cabinets are far enough above the counter top, or sitting on an island or roll around cabinet or cart. The pump takes oil that is supplied with the unit. I have read reviews where they claim there was a strong smell of oil emitting from the unit. I have not detected such and order, and I smelled of the oil in the bottle and could not smell this oil, it is a very light oil. You get 16 ounces with the unit and the pump only holds about 3 to 3 1/2 ounces of oil. You must add oil to the pump before use, this is very easy. Four screws hold the back of the unit on, and one 14mm o'ring sealed bolt in the oil fill hole. The pump has a sight glass and you fill it 1/2 to 3/4 full. One note, my unit would not seal the bag when I first fired up the machine. Everything else worked but it just would not heat seal the bag. I took the front gage panel off and found a loose wire. That fixed the unit. The way the wire fit its plug was very tight and snug, leading me to believe that this wire did not come loose during shipping, but was not plugged in during the assembly process. Don't know how the unit passed test, or if they really do test the machine. I know the warranty would have fixed the machine, but was dreading trying to repack and ship this HEAVY machine.

This vacuum sealer is great. I am very pleased with the purchase. It is powerful, quiet, and easy to use. I mainly use it for sous vide cooking, and it is perfect for sealing flavorful liquids in the bag. However, I have used it to compress watermelon and do vacuum infusions. It has worked flawlessly.

I have no buyer's remorse after this purchase. Truly a commercial quality vacuum packer, and a big improvement over the predecessor model (Ary VacMaster SP15), even though the units are ostensibly similar. Pulls a huge vacuum (as evidenced by the ferocity with which it will "boil" a bag of water). Although I give it five starts, it does seem to give off a machine oil odor strong enough to bother my family.

First off, this is my first time dealing with and they are great. This item was delivered in 3 days.... My wife bought me this as a Christmas gift but it came early so she had to give it to me. I just happened to have 200# of meat to vacuum pack. I currently had a cheap vacuum sealer. This thing is like a Cadillac compared to the one that I was using.... Even though you have to wait 40 seconds for the cycle to run thru, you can't get the next package ready in that amount of time. Excellent product, I wish I would have bought one years ago.

We purchased our vacmaster about two weeks ago to use for vacuum sealing primarily meats in our restaurant. So far it works great, seals quickly and no issues.

Perfect size for a small restaurant or a large family. Not the fastest machine but definitely works well. Been using it for sous vide as well as freezing.

this vacmaster works great and handles a lot of use from students. we turn this machine on and off a lot throughout the day and it holds up very well. We use this for a lot of dairy products and for tomato sauce.

This is a must have vacuum sealer for your food. Either they are cooked or un-cooked. I have tried to find a better vacuum sealer for so long until I bought VP215. The VP215 and VP210 are almost identical except the pumping device in the sealer. VP215 uses a oil air pump. It doesn't give you more troubles than you would think. The chamber type vacuum sealer can do more than the cheap sealer. And that is it can seal the liquid inside the bag. If you really need to seal your food that will contain liquid, you don't have other choice but get the one like VP215. I like this machine very much. However, there is one thing kind of bothering me. It is that the machine will automatically start sealing when you push down the lid of the machine when the machine is on even there is nothing in the chamber. But I think that I can get used to this, when I have more use from this machine. Overall, I would definitely give this machine 5 stars without any reservations.

We have been using this for over a year now with no issues. Used several times per day to vacuum seal foods for sous vide cooking and for storage. Easy maintenance - just be sure to change out oil as needed and it will work great.

The vp215 works! I went with the vp215 for several reasons price lowest priced model with a Oil vacuum pump. An oil vacuum pump is quieter and more efficient even if it does require regular oil changes. Weight its heavy but 1 strong person can move it alone if needed. It's set it up and leave it in one place and only move it when necessary for maintenance unit. I would make some minor design changed to the control panel but they are not a deal breaker. A bag clamp on the seal bar and a port to seal jars would be nice additions. The only issue of note I have had so far was when I was learning to use it and experimenting with different settings. I had set the seal time to 0 and the cool time to 0 when testing vacuum times for sealing jars. I accidentally bumped the seal time from zero to max and burned the Teflon tape. Fortunately a spare was included in the maintenance kit. I have no problem with the settings rolling over from max to min but rolling back from min to max not such a good idea. So pay more attention to settings. I have ordered extra tape just in case and a spare seal bar assembly so no need to stop in the middle of something to do a repair. I can just swap out the bar and when finished do the needed repairs. The box arrived in very pour condition torn and gashed. The unit was well packed double boxed, foam packed and unscathed by FedExs rough handling. It will vacuum seal multiple pint mason jars at once. I can seal quart jars but they have to be laid down on the side so only dry contents nothing wet witch was the reason for initially considering the vp320. I did the obligatory soda can test and the next day I found that the bag had lost vacuum. The sharp corners created when the can was crushed had made small pin holes in the bag so watch out for bones when sealing meat. I repeated the test this time wrapping the can in paper towels with excellent results. I have had it only a short time but so far the results have been very good. Planed uses are make ahead meals, sous vide cooking, storage of big box store bulk purchases portion control and left overs. I am getting rid of most of my plastic containers they are going to Good Will. Using Mason jars for fragile items or vac bags means less cleaning and mess. The jars are easier to clean then plastic, universal replacement lids, can be vacuum sealed to hold fragile items and don't stain. Unlike plastic containers no lid problems finding the correct container lid trying to get it to seal warping etc. Vac bags are no cleaning, easier to store freeze, microwaveable and bailable. I am still learning best practices but am very pleased with the unit it really "sucks". The vp215 came with a maintenance kit and sample bags. I also ordered a impulse sealer so I could partition the bags and put an entire meal in one bag and keep it together in the freezer. Seal 2 lines about a 1/3" apart up the middle to divide the bag and put different foods in each side then vacuum it closed. When preparing just separate between the 2 seals and prepare each food as it requires. Make sure you get a sealer that will accommodate the max bag size in the case of the vp215 its 10x15 so I ordered a 16" sealer with a 5mm seal width. The vp215 is a very powerful sealer and in the future I may explore retort pouch canning but that a ways down the line.

great cryovac machine for the price best on the market. Great for sous vide food, or just portioning and saving money at your restaurant. Changing the oil is easy, the only thing is this machine is ver yheavy. The glass top is built to last, love this machine

First off the ease of ordering and the promtpness of shipping is second to none with the Webstaurant store. Top notch web site and the ease of ordering is awesome. Your prices are the best also. In our hunting camp I have purchased many "vacuum packaging machines" like the most popular brands available. And we use them very hard. My last one just went out and I did some research. I purchased the VP215C. I did it for 2 reasons. 1. The reviews and the research I did and 2. The cost and availability of the bags for the traditional packaging machine. I have packaged 4 deer with this unit so far and am very impressed. WOW is all I can say. If your gonna buy a high end type of "Foodsaver" I say don't waste your money. Do your research on this unit. I'll post more after this hunting season concludes but so far I am impressed.

Buy your meats in bulk and save with this vacuum packer! It is also great in preparing items for sous vide cooking! A little on the pricy side , but it is worth the money!

We recieved the VP215C yesterday and was disapointed by the way Fedex had handled the package. The Tip n Tell device was all blue meaning the package was upside down at one point even though the package was clearly marked. We opened the package and it was double boxed and well padded. After adding the oil we proceded to start packaging. Wow was it quiet and with fantastic vacume. I have used snorkle machines in the past, but this machine blows them away. Maybe a little slower but far superior.

I purchased the VP215 which arrived just as I left for a extended salmon fishing trip. Upon my return, I set up the vacuum packer (20 minutes), and started packaging coho. What a difference from the FoodSaver style I had used for years. Clean, fast and flawless performance. I had the fish packaged in no time. I gave the "other one" to my neighbor who was wildly excited until he saw the VP215. It's a bit expensive, but worth every dime. Highly recommended!

First of all I can't beleive how fast your survice is. We ordered it at 8AM on a Wednesday and it was at site 10AM next day, wow! Read the book and added oil and went through the 3 step set up and was on my way packing product. The VP215 works better then I thought. Price is great also. Thank you, Ed
