The electrode pads are used to deliver a potentially life-saving shock to a patient, so it is important that you always keep them stored properly, and that you keep a spare set onhand in case you need to use your AED and replace with a new set of pads. These Smart Pad II electrodes come in a convenient plastic case, which fits inside the carry case with your AED. Additionally, these pads can be used to treat adults or children. You will just need to purchase and insert the infant / child key specific to your AED. The pads should be replaced every 2 years, or after each AED use.
