Scratch and Dent Avantco BCS-35-HC 34 5/8" Black Refrigerated Square Countertop Bakery Display Case with LED Lighting

We've had this case for a few weeks now, and for the most part it works great. It looks nice and displays our product well. We have two small issues: first, the light inside is very bright if you are in the 5'6 - 5'9 height range - at that level, you look straight at it and it's intense. Second, the temperature control is a bit wonky. We set it to 40, and the case never cooled below 46. That said, when we set it in the 30s, the case cooled to 41 just fine. So it cools, you just need to play with the setting. We use it as a dry display case in the morning and refrigerated at night, and once we learned its idiosyncrasies, this is a good case.

This was a huge hit when we first received it, then it started having condensation about 9 - 10 months after use and a little over a month ago it started cooling between 45-50 degrees, now its at 66 degrees. I am really disappointed because its a beautiful display case, but our desserts are spoiling. I have many skills but appliance repair is not one of them so I truly hope the manufacturer and/or Webstaurant can save the day.

we purchased this fridge, it have worked for 3 months, but suddenly not work, the inside temp is around 55 F now. we are looking for how to repair, but can't.

Worked great when I first used it but as soon as the weather started warming up it couldn’t handle it. Any slight humidity or warm temps and it fogs up so bad so you can’t even see what’s in the case. We had to continuously squeegee it and wipe it off. And the condensation is so bad. I’d use multiple rags to sop up over an inch of water that would form on the top every day in the summer. And our business is in Maine, I can’t imagine buying this in the South. Maybe if you live in a state with no sun this would work, otherwise it’s useless.

Bought equipment a year ago and the internal temperature won’t get down past 54 degrees. Contacted numerous repair company’s and they can’t work on it because it uses propane and has no access point to it.

Bought two of these at the same time. The first one, working and have had no issues. The second - the compressor died after two years. Painstakingly have kept the compressor coils cleaned, and I say painstakingly because they are underneath the unit and very difficult to get to. The unit has to be tilted, then rested once leveled again as a safety precaution to allow oil and refrigerant to flow back into place. According to the tech that was just here, after speaking with Avantco, they don't even have a part number for the compressor because the unit is under $ and it would cost more to replace the compressor than to purchase a new one. Although the other one is still going, I would not recommend.
