For easy operation, this radio has a simple push-to-talk button and a power / volume knob. It features automatic noise control and a squelch control to remove background noise. It also has an external speaker jack to connect to a speaker for louder broadcasting. This radio offers 40 channels that can be accessed using the simple up and down push buttons. The selected channel is clearly indicated by the bright LCD display, which is easy to view during the day and night.

This unit features a power jack to operate your radio using a DC source such as cars, trucks, and boats. For cordless use, this radio can also operate using (9) AA alkaline or Ni-Cd batteries (sold separately). If you choose to use Ni-Cd batteries, they can be recharged using the power jack and an optional charger (sold separately). To indicate when your battery is running low, this radio is equipped with a low battery indicator light. It also features high / low power settings, allowing you to conserve battery life if needed.
