This Dutch oven is a bit larger than I expected (and heavy), but it is well constructed and did a great job for the soup I made. The large capacity will be appreciated when braising meat for stews and such.
A lively addition to any cook's collection, this Lodge EC7D33 7.5 qt. blue enameled cast iron dutch oven combines the benefits of cast iron with the beauty of porcelain enamel. Creating cookware, like this, since 1896, Lodge has a rich history of an unparalleled dedication to quality, technology, and its employees. This piece in particular is perfect for making soups, stews, and cobblers in, with superior heat retention and even heating. The vibrant enamel surface is resistant to acidic and alkaline foods and can be used to marinate and refrigerate without reacting to the cookware. This Dutch oven is right at home on induction, ceramic, electric, and gas cooktops - even in your oven up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
Like traditional cast iron cookware, porcelain enameled cookware starts out being cast in the traditional method; however, after this process, a glass particulate called "frit" is applied and the cookware is baked in ovens between 1200 and 1400 degrees Fahrenheit to transform the frit into a smooth porcelain surface that is bonded to the iron. There is no exposed cast iron on the finished product - the black cooking surface and rims are matte porcelain.

I have owned several Lodge items in the past years. When they produce items like this, is why I keep coming back. I love these cast iron Dutch ovens!

I bought this for my daughter for her college apartment use. She uses it constantly and has even learned to make bread with it. It's much more affordable than my Le Creuset and works just as well.
Out of all my dutch ovens, this is my favorite. It’s huge. I use it outside on the grill, in the oven, on the stove top, in the fridge, and serve from it on the table. Due to it’s mass, this pot holds heat very well, even when a burner is cycling on and off. It cleans up super easily too. I would give this more than 5 stars if possible. Get one.
We received this enamel dutch oven ordered from Webstaurant as a gift. We have used it several times already to simmer cubes of beef chuck. While it takes a few minutes to come up to temperature, once the intended temperature is met, this dutch oven really maintains even heat. Nothing was burnt! Additionally, it cleaned pretty well too! Just make sure not to use metal cooking utensils, as they may scratch the enameled surface.
This is definitely a very affordable Dutch oven. I've always owned le creuset as I was under the impression it was superior, but they cook the same.
I absolutely love using this Dutch Oven. I received it as a gift and it has served me well. Cleans easily, cooks wonderfully. The pictures don't do it justice-it is a beautiful blue color.

Very durable pot that is great for cooking lentils, stews, curries and much more. We use them to cook all of our dishes and we love the taste as food does not stick or burn.
I bought one of these lodge enamel coated Dutch ovens years ago because the price of the fancy French Dutch ovens was crazy. I ruined the first one I bought by using metal spoons and turners in the pot. Then I bought replacement and I have been using it for years. It worked great on my electric stove and it is even better n the gas stove.
I am so happy with this dutch oven. I love making my grandmas braised beef recipe in it and it is easy to clean. Most of all I love the color. It goes perfectly with my kitchen.

This is a fabulous Dutch Oven. Aside from it being extremely sturdy, it has a wonderful porcelain enamel that allows food to be easily removed. Soon to become a favorite kitchen accessory, we are naming it "Big Red."

This came quickly and in perfect condition. I've baked enormous loaves of bread in it, and also used it on the stovetop for soup. Cleaning required no elbow grease whatsoever! When you take into account the beautiful shade of blue, I couldn't be happier!

We've wanted one of these for a long time. It arrived quickly and great condition without a single chip in the enamel. Price was good, too.
It's a bit heavy due to the size but it's Perfect. Even cooking and super easy to clean... Just be careful not to use metal utensils.
