Keep your facility ready for any emergency with this HeartSine 450-BAC-US-08 Samaritan PAD 450P semi-automatic AED.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a deadly condition that affects over 350,000 people in the United States each year, and when it happens immediate attention is needed for the best chance of survival. Emergency responders may not be able to reach the victim before permanent damage or even death occurs, but an AED (automated external defibrillator) like this device can allow someone without any medical training to deliver potentially life-saving treatment until help arrives. Designed to keep operation as simple as possible, this AED helps guide you through each step of a rescue and comes with smart design features to save time when setting up and make rescues easier.

This item has been tested and meets safety standards imposed by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use in the United States of America and Canada.

Includes Adult Electrode Pads

It comes with a pair of adult electrode pads with clear illustrations showing you where to place them on the patient's chest. The pads are stored pre-connected to the AED to let you respond faster and are intended for adult use only, but this model can also use pediatric pads (sold separately). If you do choose to install pediatric pads, the unit will adjust the prompts to fit the new pad style.

Semi-Automatic Design with CPR Advisor

Once the pads are placed on the patient's body, this semi-automatic AED will prompt you to deliver the shock at the appropriate time using a simple button. During the rescue, voice and diagram instructions will help you administer treatment confidently until help arrives, and a metronome guides you through CPR when prompted. This AED also boasts a CPR rate advisor feature, which will use voice prompts and a gauge on the AED to tell you if you need to push faster, push slower, and when you are maintaining a good speed. Up to 90 minutes of rescue data is automatically recorded and can be downloaded using a USB cable when time allows.

Compact Design

This AED is also designed to be smaller than competitors, weighing only 2.4 lb. with the Pad-Pak installed, and a footprint 56% smaller than the largest AED on the market.

Regular Self-Checks

To keep your AED ready to use at all times, this unit proactively completes a weekly self-check so that you can be alerted of potential issues promptly and fix them.

1 Expiration Date for Pads and Electrodes

Unlike other AEDs which require separate replacement of the pads and batteries, this unit makes the process easy by packaging the battery and the electrode pads together in a convenient Pad-Pak that lasts 4 years. When you need to replace a pack, you'll also start fresh with a new battery, giving you peace of mind that you'll be able to respond to a cardiac emergency.

Accessories Included

The AED comes with an 8-year warranty on the device, and a 4-year warranty on the battery and electrode Pad-Pak. The Pad-Pak has a 4-year standby life. It has an ingress protection rating of 56.

HeartSine SAM 450P CPR Rate Advisor Video

Learn how HeartSine's CPR Rate Advisor can help save lives!

You have purchased a HeartSine samaratin PAD 450P featuring CPR rate advisor - an innovative, AED that provides real time feedback on the rate of CPR. Let's look at how to use one in a life-saving situation. The samaritan PAD should be used on victims of sudden cardiac arrest who are unconscious, not breathing, and have no pulse. Check for a response by shaking the victim by the shoulders and talking loudly to the victim. If the patient is unresponsive, immediately call for medical assistance and get the samaritan PAD as quickly as possible. Press the green on/off button to turn on the samaritan PAD. Depending on the Pad-Pak currently installed, you will hear either an adult patient or a child patient prompt. If the patient is a child between 1 and 8 years of age, you should ensure a pink pediatric-PAK is installed. If a pink pPediatric-Pak is not available, you may use the gray adult Pad-Pak instead. "Adult patient: Call for medical assistance. Remove patient's clothing to expose bare skin. Pull green tab to remove pads. Peel pads from liner. Apply pads to patient's bare chest as shown in picture. Press pads firmly to patient's skin. " The samaritan PAD automatically assess's a patient's heart rhythm: "Assessing heart rhythm, do not touch the patient" And recommends whether a shock should be delivered: "Shock advised. Stand clear of patient. Press the orange shock button now. Shock delivered. =" When performing CPR, it's important to apply effective chest compressions for each 2 minute cycle as directed. The SAM 450P with CPR rate advisor will prompt you to begin CPR and will continue to do so until you begin chest compressions. "Begin CPR. It is safe to touch the patient." The SAM 450P will tell you how and where to place your hands as well as provide you with real time, audio-visual feedback on the rate of your chest compressions: "Place overlapping hands in middle of chest. Press directly down on the chest in time with metronome. Remain calm." If you are performing chest compressions at a rate that is slower than current guidelines, the sam 450P will prompt you to increase the rate of chest compressions: "Push faster." If you are performing chest compressions at a rate that is faster than current guidelines, the sam 450P will prompt you to decrease the rate of chest compressions: "Push slower," When your rate of chest compressions is within the range recommended by the current guidelines, the sam 405P will reassure you that you are providing an optimal compression rate: "Good speed." In addition to following the rate guidance prompts, your chest compressions should have a depth of at least 5 cm or 2" and not greater than 6 cm or 2.4" for adults and children greater than 8 years in age. The combination of chest compressions and defibrillation is the best treatment you can provide until medical professionals arrive on the scene. Once you have completed two minutes of chest compressions, the SAM 450P will prompt you to stop chest compressions: "Stop CPR" and again assess the patient's heart rhythm: "Assessing heart rhythm. Do not touch the patient." Sometimes, no shock is needed in a life-saving situation. "No shock advised." The samaratin PAD will tell you in that instance, or advise you to continue to perform CPR. After using the samaraitin PAD, slide a new Pad-Pak into the unit and store it as usual. Remember to follow your local battery disposal guidelines. Once a week, check that the green light is flashing so that you know the unit is ready in case of emergency. The samaratin PAD stores up to 90 minutes of ECG information after use. Use the SaverEvo software which can be downloaded from the HeartSine website, and use the custom USB data cable to download the event data for a physician, who may want the information from the device to help inform treatment decisions. After using the samaratin PAD during a sudden cardiac arrest, submit the SaverEvo file and a completed customer event form to HeartSine. HeartSine will send you a free replacement Pad-Pak. After downloading the event data, please erase the data from memory. If you need assistance to do this, contact HeartSine technical service. When a HeartSine samaratin PAD is used to save a victim of sudden cardiac arrest, the survivor is eligible to participate in the forward hearts program, which provides a donation to an organization of the survivor's choice. Contact HeartSine for details. With a unit nearby, you are always prepared to respond in the event of someone going into sudden cardiac arrest. HeartSine: life saving, pure and simple.

Every year, 7 million people worldwide suffer sudden cardiac arrest. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. 84% of sudden cardiac arrest events occur outside a healthcare setting. Only 5-10% of victims currently survive. While some cardiac events are treatable with effective cardio-pulminary-resuscitation or CPR alone, others require a combination of effective CPR and the use of an automated external defibrilator to deliver a live saving shock within the first few minutes fo cardiac arrest. In both cases effective CPR contributes to an increase of survival rates of up to 75%, HeartSine's CPR rate advisor, featured on certain models of the Samaratin PAD automated external defibrillators, provides real time visible and audible feedback to the rescuer on the rate of CPR compressions during a sudden cardiac arrest. CPR is crucial to deliver oxygenated blood to the body's vital organs. CPR quality encompasses a variety of CPR parameters. Improvements in any of these parameters contribute to overall improvement in CPR quality. CPR rate advisor helps ensure the rescuer performs CPR at an effective rate, and at an optimal CPR fraction in-line with the American Heart Associated and European Resuscitation Council guidelines. With its revolutionary technology, HeartSine's CPR rate advisor uses only the defibrillator electrodes to detect changes in patient impedance, rather than accelerometers commonly used in other AED solutions that provide some CPR feedback. Changes in impedance are related to the rate of compressions. When a patient collapses and a rescuer performs CPR, the compressions applied by the rescuer cause the patient's chest to change shape. CPR rate advisor captures this change in an ICG waveform which it uses to count the number of compressions a rescuer administers. When the rescuer compresses the patient's chest, the rate is reflected on the ICG waveform. The greater the rate, the greater the number of deflections. CPR rate advisor measures the change in impedance and uses this to determine the appropriate feedback tot eh rescuver, advising them of good speed or to push faster or slower. This real time feedback is very important, as rescuer fatigue may set in after as little as one minute, resulting in slower compressions rates. CPR fraction, the percentage of CPR was performed, is also an important parameter for CPR compressions. To help optimize CPR fraction, the sam 450P uses the electrode pads to prompt the rescuer to begin CPR and will continue to remind the rescuer to begin CPR when it detects that compressions have stalled. With its real time visible and audible feedback to a rescuer, HearSine's CPR rate advisor helps improve the quality of CPR compressions by improving compliance with CPR rate guidelines and optimizing CPR fraction by continually prompting the user to begin CPR. CPR rate advisor is integrated with an industry-leading HeartSine defibrillators, so a shock can be delivered if needed. Effective CPR provided alone of in conjunction with a life-saving shock can dramatically increase the chance of survival. As the samaratain PAD is a defibrillator specifically designed for public access, all HeartSine defibrillators can be used with minimal training in any environment. Integrated CPR rate advisor helps improve compliance with CPR rate and CPR fraction guidelines while instilling more confidence in the rescuer, both of which help improve survival rates.
