If you need an alternative hood system where a traditional hood is structurally prohibited or too expensive, add this Giles free-standing ventless recirculating hood. Thanks to its free-standing design, you can add a variety of small electric floor model cooking appliances to your cook line without building modifications or an expansion of the existing conventional ventilation system. Plus, with this ventless hood, venting to the outside is not necessary. Its ventless air cleaning technology meets the requirements for the removal of grease-laden vapor for a variety of small electric cooking appliances, such as fryers, griddles, cook-tops, and ovens. It's designed to be installed for countertop equipment.

This hood features a built-in appliance interlock relay, a push-to-start power switch for easy use, and for the user's safety, it must also be manually restarted after a power interruption to power the cooking appliance underneath. Additionally, an Electronic Air Cleaner cleaning timer helps users maintain a proper collector cell cleaning routine. Fire suppression system and chemical are sold separately, but it is factory pre-plumbed and comes ready for immediate field installation of an Ansul R102 wet chemical system. Installation must be performed by an Ansul distributor.

This hood has a durable stainless steel construction and a recirculating 3 stage air cleaning system, which doesn't require ducting to the outside vent exhaust. The stainless steel high-efficiency double baffle filter traps large grease particulate, while the Electronic Air Cleaner electrostatically captures fine particulate, collecting it on plates within the collector cell. A disposable charcoal filter is used to help control cooking aromas in the exhausted air, and the exhaust air diverter reduces the required ceiling clearance. The hood must be hardwired, and all connections to equipment must be made by a qualified electrician. It requires a 208-240V, 3 phase electrical connection for operation, and it does not come with a power cord.

Ventless installations require strict restrictions, so Giles Ventless Installation Requirements must be reviewed. A Hood Application Letter (HAL) must be submitted along with any requested documentation, which must be completed, submitted, and approved by Giles prior to order acceptance. A signature on HAL affirms the site meets all ventless requirements.
