DoughXpress: TXM-20 Manual Tortilla Press 16in x 20in - 220V

The TXM-20 is a clamshell manual tortilla dough press perfect for low to medium production volumes. It is fast, safe, simple and mess free. The TXM-20 has upper and lower heated platens with a temperature maximum of 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat speeds up the production times, enables pressing thinner products, aids dough flow, and allows dough to be pressed straight from a refrigeration unit. The TXM-20 has 16” by 20” platens that allow for pressing multiple tortillas at once, or one up to 16” in diameter. The TXM-20 is great for flour or corn tortillas, and flatbreads. The TXM-20 is easy to use and requires no skilled labor. Set your temperature and time. Recommended temperature is 275-300 degrees Fahrenheit. Recommended time is 1 to 3 seconds. Set your thickness with the adjustment knob at the back of the press. The weight of the dough ball and thickness setting will determine the size and thickness of the finished tortilla. Place your preformed dough ball or dough balls on the lower platen. Pull down the handle for one to three seconds. Remove your pressed tortillas from the platen, and finish grilling on flat grill or warmer for finished product. The TXM-20 is made in the USA and ships UPS in the continental US.

    People Talk About:

tortillas edges pressed Easy edge plates press far fact excellent
Easy to clean. Easy to use. The only thing to worry about is if there is anything near the edges, they will get really warm or melt as well as making sure not to leave the tortilla on the press for too long.
I selected this model due its large plates. I can make 6 small tortillas at a time but the ones in the back are thicker and the ones at the front at thinner. Corn tortillas do stick so I use parchment paper and then rotate to press again to achieve a consistent thickness. Flour do fine directly on the plates. I did have an issue with the heat continuing to increase after it hit the programmed temperature but called the manufacturer and they walked me through how to fix.
We have been using this for over 6 months and so far it has been 100% reliable. I also like the fact that it is made in the USA. Overall an excellent product, but -1 star because tortillas towards the outer edge do not get pressed quite as well as toward the inner edge (not as flat and spread out).
