Excellent Temperature Retention

Hi, Felix Bazgan here to discuss one of the most important aspects of food safety: hand-washing. Hand-washing in the single most effect means of preventing the spread of bacteria and viruses which can cause infections and foodborne illness. A few instances where hand-washing should take place are: before starting to work with food, utensils, or equipment; during food preparation as need; when switching between raw foods and ready-to-eat-foods; after handling soiled utensils and equipment; and of course after coughing, sneezing, eating, drinking, or using the restroom.

In a typical commercial kitchen, this should be standard practice. However, what happens when you are catering off site, or prepping and serving meals at a location without running water or electricity? Here's where the Cambro hand-wash station is the perfect solution. This hand wash station sets up quickly and easily in any environment and uses something most of you already have: the Cambro camtainer.

There are four components to the hand wash station. First, you'll need a two-and-a-half gallon or five-gallon camtainer, or ultra-camtainer. Next, the hand-washer accessory, which easily attaches to the camtainer, and using "hand-wash only" labels and easy-serve dispenser, turns a camtainer from a beverage dispenser to a convenient and economical way to meet health department hand-washing requirements.

The Velcro strap quickly and easily secures the hand-wash accessory to the camtainer. The third component is a camtainer riser, which increases the use of the hand-wash station. Finally, the Cambro five-and-a-half gallon pail makes for a safe disposal of waste water. The two hand-wash models Cambro offers both have a soap dispenser and are available with a paper towel roll holder or multi-fold paper towel dispenser.

65 years ago Cambro started with one product: the Camtray. One product. One skew. Today, Cambro manufactures over 13,000 products which equal 33,000 skews. Since 2005, the center of Cambro's world wide warehousing and distribution system is Cambro City of Industry, or COY facility. Located 30 miles north of Cambro's headquarters in Huntington Beach California, the COY facility boasts an impressive 320,000 sq. ft. of space that warehouses over 1 million cases of product. While its main purpose is the central warehouse for Cambro, the activity at COY includes more than you think, such as fulfilling sample request, receiving, shipping to regional distribution around the world, and shipping replacement parts. 25,000 cases of product come in every day from our manufacturing facilities, most of it from our Huntington Beach factories. Cambro manufactures and distributes products all over the world. Regional facilities like those in Germany, Turkey, India, and China all manufacture a selection of products for those markets. The rest of Cambro products sold there and all over the world come from COY. The City of Industry facility operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Three shifts work around the clock. Each shift has the responsibility to pick a certain number of products and ship them out by the end of their shift. 1st and 2nd shifts also receive and put away products from our factories in Huntington Beach. 2nd shift also handles the product samples shipment. More than 3,000 sample requests are processed monthly. Samples are kept in a dust free environment in our efficiently designed sample room. With 47 dock doors, COY can accommodate inbound and outbound traffic. To process 25,00 cases ever day you need automation. Our automated warehouse system scans the bar code and then matches it up with the correct order and quantity of item that is supposed to come through. Those orders are grouped together on pallets for shipping. The pallet flow operation is where all the high moving products are warehoused several pallets deep. The equipment zipping around this massive warehouse is all electric;12 pickers and quite a few forklifts. One charge is enough for a busy shift around the warehouse. Just like 65 years ago with the first Camtray, Cambro still relies upon our employees, like the ones at COY, to make sure the products the food service industry relies on makes it to them on time.

    LOVE THESE> These are the answer to any catering job or donation or marketing opportunity at events. We have found third parties to help us dress them up with a custom slip cover or wrap, which really is a good idea (these get banged up pretty easy if you travel around with them, and the material tends to be pretty obvious with scratches). They hold beverages above 140 (starting around 160) for 6-8 hours, outdoors. We use the in the dead of winter and still have hot holding for 4 hours at least. I love that the spout and lid seal are easily cleanable (and replaceable if needed). The clips are replaceable too which you are bound to need after a few drops or slides in the back of a truck. I literally have 26 of these!

    We've only used this a couple of times and are still learning tricks...like heat it up with hot water prior to use for hot beverages. Pleased with spout use though, need a drip tray underneath but haven't had any problems with dispensing. Looking forward to using it at larger events to see how well it holds up.

    We love the Cambro beverage Dispenser! I just wish that they were not so expensive. We will be trying out the newly released Gator ones next time. We think that we may like them better with there type of latching system.... Catch up Cambro on the new positive changes!

    Th cambro Camtainer 4.75 Gallon Black Insulated Beverage Dispenser is a huge part of our catering operation. We use this product for water and and for coffee. The dispenser flows very quickly and makes it very easy to get water into our water carafes. One issue though is that we put coffee in one and even after we washed it the coffee smell would not go away.     Great unit!!! We have used it for both hot and cold beverages and it hold the tempereature at a perfect range. One tip if you are using it for cold beverages is to put it in the freezer overnight we found that this actually even chills the drink and help hold the temperature for longer. We put water in at 40° degrees in a chilled unit and 4 hours later it was even colder than when it went in! The size is perfect too and very light and easy to transport.

    We use this Camtainer with our catering business with the included hand wash attachment. It will hold water hot all day and nearly 5 gallons of water is plenty to last a team of 6 all day. I would not hesitate to recommend this to others.

    The Cambro 500LCD110 4.75 Gal Insulated Beverage Dispenser is super solid and reliable. I've catered a few markets and festivals offering coffee, and this literally kept my beverages at the temperature the needed to be. One instance was an all day event lasting from 10am - 8pm. We prepared hot chocolate to serve at 6am and was filled and locked in the camtainer a 7am at around 205 degrees. At 8pm we had our "last calls" and it the hot chocolate was still in the "Mommy it's hot, can you blow it off a little" stage. Another thing to mention is being at a festival, you never know what's gonna be out there or where you'll have to set up at. The durability of this product as well as the gasket seal and 4 latches are wonderful. Nothing will get in to contaminate your liquids.The carrying handles are essential in toting this thing around should you have filled it to the maximum.

    This is a great price. We have 2 of these and 3 of the smaller unites and have nothing but good things to say about them.
