Details
Created from maple syrup that's been tapped from Vermont's renowned maple trees comes Butternut Mountain Farm 40 lb. maple sugar. Butternut Mountain Farm's iconic maple syrup is turned into a full-bodied, maple flavored sugar. As a completely versatile ingredient, you'll be able to add this maple sugar to recipes that need the sweetness and flavor of pure maple but can't have added moisture from maple syrup. It's minimally processed to maintain its natural flavor, has a low glycemic index, and comes in a bulk 40 lb. container to keep your busy kitchen or bakery in good supply.
Maple sugar is a vegan-friendly sweetener to use as a 1:1 substitute to white sugar. Because the maple syrup that was used to make this sugar was extracted from a 600 acre tree farm in the hillsides of Vermont, it's a completely natural and healthier sweetener that runs with the flavor profile of its terroir. Maple sugar is perfect for your favorite baking recipes, such as cookies, muffins, cakes, and quick breads. It can even be used in cooking applications as the base of a rub for chicken or pork, or for breakfast items like a sprinkle over cereal, blended into a mix with cinnamon for cinnamon sugar on toast, or mixed into nuts and seeds for the ultimate granola. Additionally, this maple sugar can be turned back into maple syrup, has a long shelf life, and does not require refrigeration.
Deep into the heart of Vermont's maple groves, where maple trees have been sustainably harvested for centuries, sits Butternut Mountain Farm's 600 acre forest. It is here, on the slopes of a mountain, where they extract sap from Vermont's world-renowned maple trees, and boil down the sap into grade A maple syrup in their state-of-the-art facilities. Some of the trees were even planted as seedlings over 50 years ago by the owners of Butternut Mountain Farm, the Marvin family. Each generation of the Marvin family has perfected the art of maple sugaring further and further, championing real, 100% pure Vermont maple syrup in every bottle.
