The housing and indicator are made with heavy-duty ABS plastic to stand up to heavy-duty use in a receiving area or handle heavy boxes. This scale is powered by an included AC adapter or 4 AAA batteries (sold separately) for on-the-go applications. An auto-off feature helps save battery power, but is adjustable and can be turned off completely.
