This is one heavy duty pan. Weighing in at .8 lbs, this is a heavier pan than you get in regular stores for a great price. Compared to steel pans, this will help with even cooking. Typically steel baking pans are much thinner and combined with steels poor thermal profile, can cause scorch marks on food and uneven heating. In regards to Anodized aluminum pans, this pan will require seasoning and thus change its color. This is not meant to be a pretty pan but a workhorse in your kitchen. It will stand up to abuse and still produce great cakes/pizza for a long time. If you want a solid color seasoning use my method of seasoning: Wash the pan with soap and rinse thoroughly. Dry with a towel to prevent water marks which can ruin the adhesion of the seasoning. Preheat the oven to 450 F Please the pan for 2-3 minutes to warm up the pan Using the seasoning oil of your choice (I use crisco) coat a thin layer of the oil all over the pan Use a clean cloth to remove most of the oil so that a very very thin film remains(If you see streak of oil continue wiping) Place the pan in the oven upside down for 1 hour and 30 minutes. You may use 1 hour, however, I see better results with a long wait. Turn off the oven and let it cool. Repeat the steps of oiling->removing most oil-> back in oven to get an even and solid coat of seasoning. If you don't mind spots or streaks of the seasoning follow the directions given on this website, albiet with less oil as they use way too much.

I really like this pan as just a every day 8x8 pan. I use it for more then a pizza pan. I use this for brownies, baked chicken pretty much anything that you need a pan for. I really like it, of course you will see cut marks on the pan once it is used but that doesn't bother me. Great pan!
