The stainless steel holds up very well to the abuse of outdoor life. I prefer stainless steel pots over aluminum for cooking as heat transfers to the whole pot. But being made of stainless steel means this pot is not light. To keep the weight down, the pot has a very small handle, so does the pot cover. That means you might want to use a pot lifter or a glove.
