Top-Track high density shelving: product overview. Active-aisle shelving - why? Because sometimes you just plain run out of space and there isn't room for more shelves and more aisles. So what you do is, you get rid of the aisles, and use what's called an active aisle system. But Metro's active aisle system, unlike our competitors, has thought of a better way, and our way is to put the track on top. No chance of tripping, schmutz getting into the track itself, you can keep it clean, and it rolls much more easily. Now we're showing it with our Metro Max 4 system, which is our top of the line, all-polymer system, 800 lb. per shelf, and so rigid that you can actually use it in an overhead track.
