"Hi, I'm Matt with the coffee awesomeness team."
"And I'm Devon, a cold brew coffee expert. And today we're going to demonstrate how to use the Toddy cold brew system commercial model, including the new patented lift.
"When you first purchase your Toddy system it will include everything you need to get started to brew your first 4 batches. This includes the Toddy commercial model, complete assembly instructions, lid, spigot with assembly instructions, the new lift, and finally our Toddy filter starter kit including both our time-tested paper filters and new tree-free filters.
"Before your begin brewing it's important to clean and sanitize the system and all parts. We recommend Toddy brand cleaner (sold separately). Here's what you'll need to begin:
- 5 lb. of course ground coffee
- 14 qt. (3 1/2 gallon) of filtered, ambient temperature water
- Finally, a filter of your choice from the starter kit; either Toddy's traditional paper filters which are natural colored, or our new tree-free filters made from renewable plant-based material. These white fabric-like filters are stronger when wet.
"Begin by installing the spigot onto the brewer per the included instructions. Next, insert the Toddy lift with feet down into the bottom of the system. Then, insert the filter of your choice onto the top of the lift. Add 5 lb. of course ground coffee into the filter.
"Next, add 14 qt. of filtered water, pouring in a circular motion to ensure saturation of the grounds. Tie the top of the filter with one of the included strings. Place the lid on top of the brewer and allow to brew from 12 to 24 hours depending on your preferred flavor profile.
"Once brewing is complete, open the spigot and begin draining your filtered cold brew coffee concentrate into an airtight food storage container. We recommend Toddy acrylic storage decanters.
"Once drained to the spigot level, close the spigot and let the grounds rest an additional 15 to 30 minutes when the concentrate will continue to drain with the aid of the lift. Finally, drain the remaining concentrate.
"Once draining is complete, store your cold brew coffee concentrate in a refrigerator where it will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. Remove and discard your filter with grounds, and then thoroughly rinse and sanitize all parts.
"Thanks for watching and happy brewing!"
