The Multi contact Grill. How to change the grill plates. Remember to turn off the unit, unplug the power cord, and allow the unit to cool. First, remove the grease trap. Second, remove the two thumb screws. Next, lift the top heating element assembly off the grill plate. Disengage the swing arm from the retaining screw. Remove the two cotter pins. Remove the two axis pins. Remove the top grill plate. Remove the two thumbscrew from the bottom grill plate. Remove the bottom grill plate. When putting on new plates, put the bottom grill plate in place. Attach the bottom grill plate with the two thumbscrews. Put the top grill plate in place. Insert the two axis pins. Insert the two cotter pins. Place the top heating element assembly on top of the grill plate. Insert the two thumbscrews. Engage swing arm to retaining screw. Attach the grease trap. The cast iron grill plates are dishwasher safe.
