At Clark Associates, we take the following steps to ensure that customers get their perishable shipment in optimal condition.

To control the amount of time in transit for perishable items, we only ship on select days of the week. From Monday to Wednesday, we ship to both commercial and residential customers, regardless of transit time. For items that don't need temperature control, we ship on Thursdays to residential customers in a 2-day radius and commercial customers in a 1-day radius.

On Fridays, we send shipments for two scenarios. The first is to residential customers within a one-day shipping distance. These items can be temperature controlled. The second is to both residential and commercial customers for non-temperature-controlled items. These items are shipped to customers regardless of the distance.

Depending on the quantity of the items in a customers’ order, they will be delivered by FedEx or in a climate-controlled vehicle. For larger orders over half a pallet, we will ship products in a temperature-controlled truck. Refrigerated items will be shipped with ice packs or cold packs to keep food at safe temperatures. For frozen items, we use dry ice which maintains cold temperatures longer.

There are several types of liners that we use for frozen shipments, depending on the time of year. For refrigerated items, and frozen food during the winter, we use a foil back liner. This liner is strong enough to keep items frozen, yet still has the qualities to endure the warmer temperatures.

For spring and fall, we use a 1.5" insulated liner specifically designed to ensure frozen items stay insulated with dry ice in mild ambient temperatures. For the summer season, we use a 2" thick insulated liner to help ensure that items remain frozen during the hottest temperatures

By following these procedures, customers will receive their orders in the proper condition.
