I bought this because I've never bought an aerator before, at least not for myself. As one who vacuum seals wine between glasses (I don't drink often, but when I do, I want it to be good), I found myself wanting to have an aerator to reintroduce oxygen to the wine and really open up the aroma. That, it does well. I noticed immediately upon pouring (which is slow), that the aroma was much enhanced. The rubber seal works well; I'm not afraid of it falling out by any means. I do wish that the clear plastic tip could be replaced with glass, but this doesn't impact its functionality. It does work well and I'm happy I got it. It would make a nice gift; even the box it comes in looks nice.
