We normally use JHS black raspberry to flavor our black raspberry custard but at times we have trouble getting it so we gave this one a shot. It has whole and chunks of raspberries in it (JHS is smooth) and it has a very off taste (chemical vs natural) so we would have to blend it to flavor custard and we definitely wouldn't use it as a sundae topper. If you're in a pinch and don't mind blending it to flavor custard or ice cream, go for it, but we wouldn't purchase this again for anything other than an absolute emergency backup.
